Fortuna Mining Corp.’s main business is extracting gold at Séguéla in Côte d’Ivoire and Lindero in Argentina. It processes the ore into unrefined gold bars, sends them to refineries in Switzerland and the United States, and sells the refined metal to buyers primarily under non-exclusive agreements with Auramet International LLC and Stonex Commodities DMCC. Gold provides most of its revenue, and Séguéla is its largest revenue source. Its Caylloma underground mine in Peru also sells concentrates containing silver, lead and zinc to international metals traders.
Cash generation depends heavily on these operating mines and the prices buyers pay for their metals. Sales are concentrated among a few customers, with the largest providing more than half of revenue. Argentina’s capital controls require Fortuna to convert Lindero’s foreign-currency export proceeds into pesos and restrict transfers of some profits abroad.
Fortuna is also developing the Diamba Sud gold project in Senegal; it is not an operating mine. Development requires environmental and exploitation permits, whose approval is not assured. Senegal requires the environmental permit before granting the exploitation permit.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
B2Gold and Fortuna both sell mined gold at market prices and operate in West Africa, so gold prices and regional mining conditions matter to both. B2Gold’s Fekola mine in Mali offers a regional comparison for Fortuna’s Séguéla mine in Côte d’Ivoire, though their buyers differ: B2Gold sells to bullion dealers and refiners.
AngloGold Ashanti and Fortuna share exposure to gold prices and mining conditions in Africa and Argentina. Both turn mined ore into unrefined gold bars, or doré, for refining; AngloGold’s refined gold sales to bullion banks provide a comparison for Fortuna’s gold business.
Kinross and Fortuna both mine gold in Africa and the Americas and send unrefined gold bars to refineries, sharing exposure to gold prices and mining costs. Kinross sells refined gold to banks and refiners; its Tasiast mine in Mauritania offers an African operating comparison, rather than a read on Fortuna’s specific mines.
Aris Mining and Fortuna share gold-price exposure through South American mines while also investing in new gold projects. Aris earns most revenue selling unrefined gold bars to refiners; watch its Segovia plant expansion and Marmato construction as comparisons for the operating and development demands on Fortuna.
Pan American Silver and Fortuna share gold, silver, lead and zinc exposure through Latin American mines. Pan American’s silver and base-metal sales are a useful comparison for Fortuna’s Caylloma concentrates business, rather than just its much larger gold revenue line.
IAMGold and Fortuna share gold-price and West African operating exposure, and both develop further gold resources. IAMGold’s Essakane mine in Burkina Faso is the regional operation to watch alongside Fortuna’s Séguéla mine in Côte d’Ivoire and Diamba Sud project in Senegal.
Gold Fields and Fortuna both generate cash by mining and selling gold, with operations in Africa and South America. Watch Gold Fields’ realised gold prices and gold sales: it attributed stronger profitability and cash generation in 2025 partly to improvements in both.
Higher gold prices lift mining margins at both Barrick and Fortuna, which earn money from producing and selling gold. For a comparison with Fortuna, focus on Barrick’s gold-mine results rather than its copper business, another principal source of earnings.
Equinox Gold and Fortuna share gold-price and open-pit operating exposure: both produce unrefined gold bars for refining and sale to bullion buyers. Equinox’s Greenstone and Valentine mines offer operating comparisons for Fortuna’s Lindero and Séguéla; Equinox’s buyers include bullion banks, traders and refiners.
Newmont and Fortuna both produce gold and other metals, with operating exposure in Argentina and Peru. Newmont’s reporting on energy, labour and equipment costs provides a concrete comparison for the pressures on Fortuna’s mining and processing costs.
Alamos Gold and Fortuna both depend on operating gold mines while investing in additional projects, sharing exposure to gold prices and development costs. Watch construction at Alamos’s Lynn Lake project as a development comparison for Fortuna’s Diamba Sud, not as an existing source of gold production.
Agnico Eagle and Fortuna both earn from gold production, so gold prices and the cost of keeping mines running shape their earnings. Agnico traditionally sells production at spot gold prices; watch its cost per ounce, including sustaining expenditure, rather than gold prices alone.
Coeur and Fortuna both earn from gold and silver sold into international metals markets as refined bars or concentrates. Coeur’s sales to multinational banks, bullion traders and refiners offer a comparison for Fortuna’s precious-metal sales, while Kensington’s concentrate sales follow a long-term purchase agreement.
McEwen and Fortuna share gold-and-silver price exposure and operating mining interests in Argentina. McEwen’s interest in the San José mine in Santa Cruz offers an Argentine comparison for Fortuna’s Lindero mine; this is not the Mexican San José mine Fortuna sold in 2025.
Franco-Nevada receives a share of proceeds from Fortuna’s Séguéla mine through a 0.6% net smelter return royalty, directly tying that income to Fortuna’s gold operation. Watch Séguéla production and gold sales: the mine generated $525.8 million of Fortuna’s $947.1 million continuing-operations sales in 2025.
Harmony and Fortuna earn most of their metal-sales revenue from gold, making gold prices central to both companies’ earnings. Harmony attributed higher gold revenue mainly to the rise in its average received dollar gold price in fiscal 2025; that realised-price line is the useful comparison for Fortuna.
Endeavour Silver and Fortuna share exposure to gold and silver sales and to concentrates containing several metals. Endeavour’s Kolpa sales of silver, lead and zinc concentrates offer a closer comparison for Fortuna’s Caylloma business than gold sales alone; its gold-and-silver-rich concentrates are sold to metal traders.
First Majestic and Fortuna both produce gold and silver, but First Majestic’s focus on Mexican silver mines makes it a silver comparison rather than a match for Fortuna’s gold-heavy sales. Its First Mint sells silver bars and rounds to shareholders and bullion customers, a distinct sales channel from Fortuna’s metal traders and gold buyers.
Centerra and Fortuna share exposure to gold-mining margins, although Centerra’s operating mines are Mount Milligan in Canada and Öksüt in Türkiye. Focus on those mines for a gold comparison: Centerra’s business buying, upgrading and reselling molybdenum concentrates serves different metallurgical and chemical markets.
Wheaton shares Fortuna’s precious-metal price exposure without the same direct mining-cost burden: it pays mines upfront and a fixed amount for each delivery, then sells the metals, an arrangement called streaming. Watch its delivered volumes and realised selling prices, rather than treating its costs as a benchmark for Fortuna’s mines.
DRDGOLD and Fortuna both sell refined gold into bullion markets, but DRDGOLD recovers gold from old mine waste in South Africa while Fortuna mines ore. DRDGOLD’s sales to South African bullion banks offer a gold-price comparison; its recovery costs reflect tailings processing rather than Fortuna’s mining operations.
Newmont Corporation earningsNEM
Newmont's report will show how changes in energy, labour and equipment costs are affecting mining costs shared with Fortuna.
Look for changes Newmont reports in energy, labour and equipment costs as a comparison for mining and processing inputs, not as a substitute for Fortuna's own costs. If these costs ease, some input pressure on Fortuna may ease too; if they rise, mine margins face a stronger squeeze. Newmont provides an industry comparison, while Fortuna's own report must confirm what happened at its mines.
Alamos Gold Inc. earningsAGI
Alamos Gold's report will show how construction progress and spending at Lynn Lake compare with the development demands of Fortuna's Diamba Sud project.
Read Lynn Lake's disclosed construction milestones alongside project spending. Progress on schedule with spending in line with completed work would show investment translating into development; delays alongside rising spending would highlight greater execution and funding pressure. Lynn Lake is in a different region, so its results do not establish what will happen at Diamba Sud, but they show the milestones and cash demands a gold project can face.
Fortuna Mining Corp. earningsThis company
Fortuna's report will show how much cash its gold from Séguéla and Lindero, and concentrates from Caylloma, leave after mine costs and development spending.
Read Séguéla and Lindero gold sales alongside production and mine costs, then check whether Caylloma's silver-lead and zinc concentrate sales have production behind them. Rising sales with stronger production and contained costs would show firmer mine cash to support operations and Diamba Sud; if sales rise mainly on metal prices while output weakens or costs climb faster, the cash base is less solid and less remains for development.
B2Gold Corp. earningsBTG
B2Gold's report will show how production and costs at its Fekola mine in Mali compare with the West African operating conditions relevant to Fortuna's Séguéla mine in Côte d'Ivoire.
Read Fekola's disclosed production alongside operating costs. Steady output with contained costs would show a West African gold mine operating with support and provide regional context for Séguéla; falling output or rising costs would flag operating pressure that may also matter to miners in the region. Mali and Côte d'Ivoire are not the same mine site, so B2Gold's results cannot replace Fortuna's own disclosure on Séguéla.
Endeavour Silver Corp. earningsEXK
Endeavour Silver's report will show how sales of silver, lead and zinc concentrates from Kolpa compare with the concentrate business at Fortuna's Caylloma mine.
Read Kolpa's disclosed silver, lead and zinc concentrate sales alongside production and metal mix. Stronger sales with production to match would show support for this type of multi-metal concentrate; weaker sales would flag possible pressure on concentrate demand or metal value and make Caylloma's own sales and output important to check. The mines and buyers differ, so Endeavour Silver is a comparison, not proof of what happened at Caylloma.
Franco-Nevada Corporation earningsFNV
Franco-Nevada's report will show royalty income tied directly to gold sales at Fortuna's Séguéla mine, a major source of Fortuna's revenue.
Look for Franco-Nevada's disclosed net smelter return royalty income from Séguéla and compare it with the mine's gold production and sales. Rising royalty income alongside stronger output and sales would show Séguéla supporting Fortuna's gold revenue; weaker royalty income would leave production, gold prices or sales as possibilities to check, rather than proving a change in Fortuna's overall business on its own.
