Associated Banc-Corp is a Wisconsin-based bank holding company serving individuals and businesses mainly in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and Missouri through Associated Bank and other subsidiaries. Customers use it to keep deposits, borrow money and manage their finances. Deposits are its largest funding source, supporting loans and investment securities; borrowers and securities issuers pay interest, while the bank pays interest on its funding. The amount left over—net interest income—provides most of its revenue. It also collects fees for managing client wealth and providing account, card and other financial services.
Commercial and business lending, including commercial property and construction financing, makes up most of its loan portfolio. The business depends on borrowers repaying, customers keeping deposits at the bank, and the relationship between rates earned on assets and rates paid for funding. It does not depend on a single customer or a small group of customers.
Banking regulation constrains lending, investments, capital and growth. The parent company also relies heavily on dividends from its subsidiaries for cash, and federal and state rules limit how much those subsidiaries can distribute.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.

Hancock Whitney Corporation earningsHWC
Hancock Whitney Corporation’s commercial lending and equipment finance will show how business borrowing and repayments are holding up, offering context for Associated Banc-Corp’s commercial loans.
Read commercial loan demand alongside signs of credit stress, such as delinquencies and credit losses. Steady demand with contained losses suggests businesses are still borrowing and repaying, supporting Associated’s commercial loan income. Weaker demand or rising losses points to less borrowing or greater repayment risk, putting loan income and credit costs under pressure.

Associated Banc-Corp earns most of its interest income from loans and investments after paying deposit interest, and this report will show whether its margin and commercial lending are still supporting that business.
Read net interest margin alongside commercial loan growth. A wider margin with continued commercial loan growth means Associated earns more on its lending and investments relative to funding costs while business customers borrow more. A narrower margin or stalled commercial loan growth points to greater pressure from funding costs or loan yields, or weaker business borrowing.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
For Associated Bank, the Fed’s policy rate—the benchmark that guides borrowing costs—affects interest earned on loans and securities and interest paid on deposits and other funding, shaping net interest income.

If it comes in above expectations
If rates rise more than expected, yields on repricing loans and new lending may lift income, but higher rates paid to depositors and other funders may offset some of that gain.
If it comes in below expectations
If rates fall more than expected, yields on repricing loans and new lending may reduce interest income, while lower deposit and other funding costs may cushion some of the decline.
