Fulton Financial is a bank holding company serving households and businesses through Fulton Bank, primarily in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia. The bank takes customer deposits and uses that funding mainly to make loans, including home mortgages and financing for small and medium-sized businesses and commercial property. Interest earned on loans and investments, less interest paid on deposits and borrowings, supplies most of its revenue.
Customers also pay for banking and wealth services. Fulton Financial Advisors and Fulton Private Bank, divisions of Fulton Bank, provide investment management, trust and advisory services. These fees supplement the bank’s main interest-based business.
Most of its loans are commercial, commercial mortgage or construction loans, so borrowers’ business performance and property markets matter to repayment. Fulton does not depend on a few customers, but its lending is concentrated in its regional markets. It relies on retaining customer deposits at a cost that leaves room between interest earned and interest paid; changes in rates can narrow that gap. Capital and liquidity rules constrain its banking activities, and the holding company relies on distributions from Fulton Bank that regulators can restrict.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.

Fulton Financial Corp earningsThis company
Fulton Financial earns most of its revenue from the spread between loan income and funding costs, and this report will show whether loan and deposit growth adds to net interest income without being eaten up by funding costs or credit losses.
Read net interest income alongside net interest margin and the provision for credit losses. If net interest income grows while the margin holds and provisions do not rise materially, loan and deposit business is adding income without higher funding costs or weaker loan quality offsetting it. A narrower margin or rising provisions would show that funding pressure or borrower repayment risk is consuming the gain. The question is whether core banking growth is translating into sturdier earnings.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
The Fed’s rate decision signals whether borrowing costs across the economy are rising or falling, affecting what Fulton earns on loans and investments and pays for deposits and borrowings.

If it comes in above expectations
Higher rates may lift income on loans and investments as they reprice, but Fulton’s deposit and borrowing costs may also rise; if those costs climb faster, its net interest margin can narrow, and borrowers may find repayment harder.
If it comes in below expectations
Lower rates may reduce income as Fulton’s loans and investments reprice, but can also ease deposit and borrowing costs; if funding costs fall faster, its net interest margin may improve, while borrowers may find repayment easier.
