Company

Company overview

Central Bancompany operates through The Central Trust Bank, serving households, businesses, governments and community organizations through branches and digital banking. Its business is centered in Missouri, with additional markets in Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Florida. Customer deposits fund loans and securities investments; borrowers and securities pay interest, and the bank keeps what remains after funding costs. This interest spread supplies most of its revenue.

Customers also pay for payment processing, account services and mortgage banking. Central Trust Company and Central Investment Advisors provide investment management, trust and planning services, earning fees that generally depend on the assets they advise.

Commercial customers account for most lending, and real estate backs most loans. Borrowers are largely based in the bank’s core markets, tying repayment to those local economies and property markets. The business also depends on retaining deposits and managing the difference between lending yields and funding costs. Central Bancompany itself relies primarily on dividends from the bank for cash, and banking laws and minimum-capital requirements limit those transfers.
