SentinelOne helps businesses and government organizations protect devices, servers, cloud workloads and identities against cyberattacks. Its Singularity Platform brings security data together and uses AI to detect threats, block attacks and support investigation and response.
Customers pay mainly for platform subscriptions, generally priced by the number of software agents deployed on devices or computing workloads. They can buy additional licenses to cover more systems and add modules such as cloud security and Purple AI. SentinelOne’s sales teams help win customers, but almost all sales are fulfilled through distributors, resellers and other channel partners, making those relationships central to reaching customers and collecting payments.
The business depends on customers renewing subscriptions and expanding coverage or adopting more modules; no single end customer dominates the business. Its cloud infrastructure relies primarily on Amazon Web Services (AWS). U.S. export controls and sanctions restrict where and to whom it can supply certain software and cloud services.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
SentinelOne’s expansion into security-data analytics also brings it up against Elastic, an important rival missing from this list.
CrowdStrike Holdings competes directly with SentinelOne for organizations’ endpoint-security subscriptions, and both grow accounts by selling additional security modules. Watch adoption of added Falcon modules for a read on the competition facing SentinelOne’s own customer expansion.
Palo Alto Networks competes with SentinelOne to capture enterprise security spending as customers replace separate tools with integrated platforms. Watch its progress in consolidating those tools: that is the same customer spending SentinelOne seeks with Singularity.
Microsoft competes with SentinelOne to sell organizations protection for endpoints such as computers and servers. Security is only one part of Microsoft’s business, so its endpoint-protection news is more relevant to this rivalry than its overall results.
Rapid7 competes with SentinelOne for enterprises buying platforms that connect security data to detect, investigate and respond to threats. Its Command Platform brings together cloud, endpoint and network data, making its adoption relevant to SentinelOne’s push into security-data analytics.
Zscaler and SentinelOne both depend on enterprise cloud-security purchasing, but serve different needs: Zscaler sells subscriptions that secure access to applications and workloads, while SentinelOne protects endpoints and workloads. Zscaler’s subscription demand offers a view of spending in that shared customer market.
Tenable and SentinelOne draw on enterprise spending to protect IT assets and cloud workloads, but do different jobs. Enterprises buy Tenable One to find exploitable weaknesses, while SentinelOne detects and responds to threats; Tenable One’s adoption offers a view of demand for finding those weaknesses.
Fortinet competes with SentinelOne for enterprise security-operations spending through integrated threat-protection platforms. Its Security Fabric combines networking, security and AI-driven security operations; watch the security-operations offering for the closest overlap with SentinelOne.
Qualys and SentinelOne both sell into enterprise cloud and endpoint security budgets: Qualys offers applications to find and fix vulnerabilities and secure the cloud, while SentinelOne protects against endpoint and cloud threats. Watch customers add Qualys Cloud Apps to gauge their willingness to expand security subscriptions.
Check Point Software Technologies competes with SentinelOne for enterprises’ malware-protection spending. Its security gateways use ThreatCloud AI threat data to block threats, so developments in their anti-malware protection are a concrete place to watch this rivalry.
SentinelOne depends primarily on Amazon’s AWS to supply the cloud infrastructure running its security platform. Watch AWS outages, pricing and service terms: disruptions can affect customers’ use and renewals, while price increases can raise SentinelOne’s hosting costs.
Zscaler, Inc. earningsZS
Zscaler's report will show whether organizations are still expanding cloud-security subscriptions, offering a read on the shared enterprise budgets SentinelOne also relies on.
Look at whether Zscaler's subscription revenue and disclosed customer commitments are both strengthening. Growth in both would indicate that organizations are still signing up and paying for cloud security, a supportive budget backdrop for SentinelOne; slowing growth would suggest shared customers may be tightening that spending, making new subscriptions and expansions harder for SentinelOne to win. This is a signal about the shared market, not a result for SentinelOne itself.
CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. earningsCRWD
CrowdStrike Holdings' report will show whether customers are adding Falcon security modules, revealing demand for the endpoint-security expansions SentinelOne also competes to win.
Look at CrowdStrike Holdings' disclosures on adoption of additional Falcon modules and whether customer expansion remains strong. More module adoption would show that organizations are still expanding security-platform spending, supporting the market SentinelOne sells into, while also showing CrowdStrike competing for those same dollars. Weaker adoption would point to less willingness to expand, a harder setting for SentinelOne's own customer expansions too. The conclusion is about shared demand and competitive pressure, not SentinelOne's results or market share.
SentinelOne, Inc. earningsThis company
This report will show whether SentinelOne's growth still comes from existing customers buying more of its platform, or depends more on winning new customers.
Read subscription revenue alongside ARR (annual recurring revenue, the annualized run rate of subscriptions and usage agreements at period-end) and the dollar-based net retention rate. If revenue and ARR grow while retention remains expansionary, existing customers are adding licenses or adjacent modules and platform expansion is supporting growth. If revenue grows but ARR or retention weakens, new customers may be masking reduced usage or smaller renewals among existing customers. Because subscription revenue is recognized over contract terms, the key conclusion is whether existing-customer expansion is continuing, not just whether current revenue rose.
