EVERTEC helps merchants accept electronic payments and helps banks and other financial institutions authorize transactions, move funds and maintain card accounts across Puerto Rico, Latin America and the Caribbean. It owns and operates the ATH debit network. Merchants pay fees linked to payment value, while financial institutions pay largely according to transactions processed and accounts maintained. Recurring transaction and processing services generate most revenue, so the business depends on continued electronic-payment use and the volume of activity handled for customers.
Beyond payments, EVERTEC supplies core banking software and runs technology and back-office operations for financial institutions, companies and governments. Its Brazilian subsidiary Sinqia provides technology for financial institutions. These services bring in ongoing fixed and usage-based fees, alongside some one-time software and project revenue.
Puerto Rico supplies most revenue. Popular is the largest customer and accounts for a substantial share of the business; its subsidiary Banco Popular is also EVERTEC’s most important merchant-distribution channel. Banco Popular refers merchants and sponsors their access to payment networks, while EVERTEC processes their payments and shares revenue with the bank. This makes the relationship important both for existing service income and for reaching merchants. EVERTEC must meet payment-network rules and card-data security standards to retain access to card-acceptance programs.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
EVERTEC depends heavily on Popular, which buys essential bank transaction-processing, IT and security services and accounted for 29% of EVERTEC’s revenue in 2025. Watch Popular’s planned moves of certain services to other providers, subject to revenue minimums: replacing EVERTEC requires a lengthy, costly transition.
Fiserv competes with EVERTEC for merchants paying to accept electronic payments and financial institutions buying payment processing and banking technology. Its account- and transaction-based processing revenue under multi-year contracts is the line to watch for this recurring-service rivalry.
FIS competes with EVERTEC for financial institutions paying to run bank transactions, use financial software and outsource technology operations. Watch FIS’s recurring Banking Solutions business, rather than its former merchant business, which is excluded from continuing operations.
Global Payments competes with EVERTEC for merchants paying to accept and process electronic payments, with both earning fees tied to transaction count or value. Its Merchant Solutions payment revenue is the closest comparison; software subscriptions and other services do not necessarily follow payment activity.
ACI Worldwide competes with EVERTEC for banks and merchants buying technology to approve and route payments, settle funds, process bills and detect fraud. Watch ACI’s payment and fraud-management software for those customers, where the offerings overlap.
Euronet’s EFT business competes with EVERTEC for financial institutions paying to manage ATMs, process payments at checkout and route transactions. Watch its ATM management and transaction fees, rather than its separate content-distribution or money-transfer businesses.
Jack Henry competes with EVERTEC for financial institutions paying to run core banking systems, host processing and handle electronic payments. Its cloud and recurring payment services for community and regional banks and credit unions offer a closer comparison than its less predictable software-license and hardware sales.
Marqeta competes with EVERTEC for financial institutions and fintechs paying to process transactions on cards they issue, support card programs and manage fraud. Watch Marqeta’s cloud-based issuer-processing platform, its core offering, for the clearest product overlap.
Visa and EVERTEC both benefit as electronic payments spread, although they compete in processing transactions for financial institutions. Watch transactions processed by Visa’s own network as a broad payment-activity signal alongside EVERTEC’s transaction-driven ATH network fees.
Mastercard and EVERTEC both benefit from rising electronic payment volumes while competing to route transactions and settle funds for financial institutions. Mastercard’s debit and prepaid payment volume is a useful reference for the activity supporting EVERTEC’s ATH debit-network processing fees.
PayPal competes with EVERTEC for merchants paying to accept and process payments, and both offer digital payment products. Watch PayPal’s transaction-fee revenue, which generally follows platform payment activity, rather than its credit-related or other value-added revenue.
Growing digital financial activity supports both PagSeguro Digital’s Latin American merchant payments and Brazilian banking platform and EVERTEC’s regional processing and Brazilian financial software. Watch PagSeguro’s local payment services for international merchants and its PagBank offering as reference points for that shift.
Brazil’s shift toward digital financial services supports both StoneCo’s merchant payments and banking platform and EVERTEC’s software sold to Brazilian financial institutions. Watch StoneCo’s Ton and Stone payment and banking offerings for micro-merchants and small and medium-sized businesses as a merchant-side view of that shift.
Popular Inc earningsBPOP
Popular’s report will help show whether this customer, which generated 29% of EVERTEC’s revenue in 2025, continues to rely on its bank processing and technology services.
Look for whether Popular continues using EVERTEC for transaction processing, IT, and security, and for any changes it reports in those outsourced services. Continued use would support this major customer revenue stream; moving more services to other providers would point to pressure from EVERTEC’s customer concentration, even though minimum revenue commitments and a lengthy, costly transition may slow the shift. The conclusion is whether the key customer relationship remains in place or is beginning to weaken.
Euronet Worldwide Inc earningsEEFT
Euronet’s EFT results will show whether financial institutions and merchants are still paying for ATM management and transaction processing in a market where it competes with EVERTEC.
Focus on ATM management and transaction-processing activity or revenue in Euronet’s EFT business, not its content distribution or money-transfer businesses. Stronger results would indicate that financial institutions and merchants still pay for these services, supporting demand in a market shared with EVERTEC; weaker results would suggest pressure in that market, but would not prove EVERTEC changed by the same amount. This is a read on shared service demand, not a substitute for EVERTEC’s own results.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
The Fed’s decision on short-term interest rates matters to EVERTEC because higher rates can raise the cost of its predominantly variable-rate debt, leaving less cash for operations and investment.

If it comes in above expectations
If the Fed’s rate is above expectations, higher borrowing costs may increase EVERTEC’s interest expense on debt that reprices, reducing cash available for operations and investment.
If it comes in below expectations
If the Fed’s rate is below expectations, lower borrowing costs may reduce EVERTEC’s interest expense on debt that reprices, leaving more cash available for operations and investment.
Mastercard Incorporated earningsMA
Mastercard’s debit and prepaid volume offers a reference for whether electronic payment activity that supports EVERTEC’s ATH debit-network processing fees is broadly active.
Use Mastercard’s reported debit and prepaid payment volume as a broad reference for electronic payment activity, then relate it to EVERTEC’s transaction-based ATH network fees. Rising volume would indicate a stronger backdrop for demand for related processing; falling volume would suggest that backdrop is softening, but Mastercard’s figures do not establish that ATH transactions moved the same way. The takeaway is the direction of broad payment activity, not EVERTEC’s actual network performance.
Global Payments, Inc. earningsGPN
Global Payments’ Merchant Solutions results will show whether merchant payment revenue is holding up in the acquiring business where it competes with EVERTEC for fees tied to transaction count or value.
Focus on payment revenue in Global Payments’ Merchant Solutions, not software subscriptions or other services as a proxy for payment activity. Stronger payment revenue would suggest that transaction counts, values, or pricing together are holding up in the merchant-acquiring market shared with EVERTEC; weaker revenue would point to pressure on activity or pricing, without identifying which drove it. The conclusion is whether this shared merchant-payment business is strengthening or weakening.
Henry (Jack) & Associates earningsJKHY
Jack Henry’s core-banking and recurring payment results will show whether financial institutions still pay for outsourced systems and processing like EVERTEC’s banking solutions.
Focus on Jack Henry’s cloud and recurring payment services, which reflect financial institutions paying for ongoing systems and processing; less predictable software-license and hardware sales are not the same signal. Growth in recurring services would suggest banks and credit unions are still investing in core systems and payment processing, supporting the demand backdrop for EVERTEC’s banking solutions; weakness would suggest greater customer caution. Their customer bases are not identical, so this is a demand reference, not proof of EVERTEC’s results.
Marqeta, Inc. earningsMQ
Marqeta’s issuer-processing results will show whether financial institutions and fintechs still pay for card-program and transaction services that overlap with EVERTEC’s issuer processing.
Focus on activity in Marqeta’s cloud-based issuer-processing platform, rather than treating all of its revenue as the same demand signal. Stronger platform activity would show that financial institutions and fintechs are still paying for card-program infrastructure that overlaps with EVERTEC’s issuer processing; weaker activity would suggest softer demand from these customers. The companies serve different customers and card programs, so the conclusion concerns the shared service market, not EVERTEC’s own transaction volume.
EVERTEC, INC. earningsThis company
EVERTEC’s report will show whether revenue growth across its businesses is turning into more segment profit or being eaten up by costs and pricing pressure.
Read each segment’s revenue alongside its Segment Adjusted EBITDA margin, the company’s measure of adjusted segment profit as a share of revenue. Revenue growth with a steady or higher margin means payment processing and other services are growing without weakening segment profitability; growth with a lower margin means costs, price concessions, or the mix of business is consuming more revenue. That shows whether growth is also improving the operating performance of EVERTEC’s segments.
StoneCo Ltd. earningsSTNE
StoneCo’s merchant payment and banking results offer a merchant-side read on Brazil’s digital-finance shift, which also supports the market for EVERTEC’s software sold to local financial institutions.
Use StoneCo’s payment and banking activity among micro, small, and medium-sized merchants as a merchant-side signal of Brazil’s digital-finance shift. Stronger use would indicate that digital payments and financial services are spreading among local merchants, supporting the regional backdrop for EVERTEC’s software sales to Brazilian financial institutions; weaker use would make that backdrop less supportive. Merchant activity does not establish bank software purchases, so this is a regional trend reference, not evidence of EVERTEC orders.
