Company

Company overview

CACI International builds and supports systems that help government agencies handle intelligence, secure networks and carry out defense missions. It supplies software, data analysis, engineering and specialized personnel, including for systems handling classified information. Almost all revenue comes from U.S. federal contracts, with the Department of War and intelligence agencies supplying most of the business.

CACI usually contracts directly with agencies, though it also works as a subcontractor. Most revenue comes from contracts that reimburse allowable costs and pay an additional negotiated fee. Other work pays an agreed price or fixed hourly rates, leaving CACI responsible when costs exceed what those payments cover.

The business depends on federal funding and continued contract awards: winning a contract does not ensure that Congress will fund all the work, and the government can terminate contracts for its convenience. Many assignments require security clearances for CACI and its staff. Conflict-of-interest rules can also restrict which jobs it may pursue—for example, designing a system can prevent it from bidding to develop and install that system.

The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.

  • Leidos and CACI compete for overlapping defense, intelligence and civilian agency customers that pay them to connect systems and provide technology services. Watch Leidos' National Security & Digital business for the closest view of their shared federal market.

  • Booz Allen Hamilton competes with CACI for federal customers paying for cybersecurity, data, engineering and digital modernization. Its federal cyber and data work is more relevant to CACI than its commercial incident-response business.

  • Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) competes with CACI to help U.S. federal agencies carry out missions, provide engineering and run agency-wide IT systems. Its Defense and Intelligence segment is the clearest comparison for CACI's national-security work.

  • Amentum Holdings, Inc. competes with CACI for U.S. government work in intelligence support, engineering, cybersecurity and digital modernization. Watch its direct U.S. government contracts rather than treating all of its international and commercial work as a guide to CACI.

  • Parsons' Federal Solutions business competes with CACI to supply government customers with national-security technology, cybersecurity and connected systems. Watch that segment rather than Parsons' total revenue: infrastructure supplied 49% of revenue in the year ended December 31, 2025.

  • KBR, Inc.'s Mission Technology Solutions business competes with CACI to provide government customers with engineering, intelligence and mission support. That business is the useful comparison; KBR's separate business licensing industrial process technologies adds exposure unrelated to CACI.

  • General Dynamics competes with CACI in federal IT and national-security technology through its GDIT and Mission Systems businesses. Watch the Technologies segment that contains them, since aircraft, shipbuilding and combat systems make company-wide results a less direct comparison.

  • V2X, Inc. and CACI compete for defense customers paying for mission support, network management, information security and engineering. V2X leans more toward training, readiness and keeping aircraft and infrastructure operating, so its network and mission-support work is the closer comparison.

  • Huntington Ingalls Industries competes with CACI through Mission Technologies, which sells defense technology, engineering and mission services to government customers. Watch that business rather than overall results, which are dominated by naval shipbuilding.

  • ICF International, Inc. competes with CACI for government technology, analytics and work that puts programs into practice, with a greater focus on civilian policy markets. Its government digital and analytics work is a closer guide to CACI's federal civilian business than its commercial services.
