Company

Company overview

V2X, Inc. helps military customers train personnel, keep equipment working and sustain operations. It manages supplies and logistics, maintains aircraft and other equipment, and supports the communications networks and infrastructure that missions use. Almost all revenue comes from the U.S. government, with the Army and Navy supplying most of it. Its largest contract is the LOGCAP V Kuwait Task Order, which supports Army operations in Kuwait.

V2X usually contracts directly with the government rather than working under another contractor. Most revenue comes from contracts that reimburse allowable costs, with a profit fee on cost-plus work; reimbursement for consumable supplies typically carries no fee. Fixed-price work supplies much of the remaining revenue: V2X receives an agreed price and keeps savings, but absorbs cost overruns.

Continued work depends on congressional funding and winning competitive rebids. Multi-year contracts do not guarantee funding for their full term, and the government can reduce or terminate work. V2X must also meet government procurement and security requirements. Many assignments require cleared staff and facilities; losing facility clearance can prevent it from bidding for or winning those contracts.

  • Amentum Holdings, Inc. competes with V2X for government defense work, providing engineering, operations and support throughout a mission’s life. Watch its government mission contracts: these cover the customer base that supplies most of V2X’s revenue.

  • KBR, Inc.’s Mission Technology Solutions business competes with V2X to supply military logistics, operational support and engineering throughout a program’s life. Its work for U.S., U.K. and Australian military and government customers is more relevant to V2X than KBR’s separate process-technology business.

  • Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) competes with V2X for government-paid engineering, mission support, network management and modernization work. Watch its contract awards in those services, since V2X’s customers typically seek competing bids before contracts expire if they still need the work.

  • Leidos Holdings, Inc. divisions compete with V2X for national-security and defense mission contracts, and both rely heavily on U.S. government awards. U.S. government contracts supplied 87% of Leidos’s fiscal 2025 revenue, making news about that customer group especially relevant when assessing V2X’s government business.

  • CACI INTERNATIONAL CLA competes with V2X to provide U.S. government customers with cybersecurity, network, engineering and operational mission support. Watch its new and repeat contracts in those services, where CACI says specialized expertise and its delivery record help it win business.

  • Booz Allen Hamilton overlaps with V2X in cybersecurity, engineering and digital mission services paid for by federal agencies, but focuses less on physical logistics and maintenance. Its federal cybersecurity and digital-modernization work is the closer comparison for V2X, rather than its commercial services.

  • General Dynamics Corporation competes with V2X through its Technologies segment, which supplies government IT and mission services; its aircraft, shipbuilding and combat-equipment businesses make company-wide results a less direct comparison. Watch Technologies, including GDIT and Mission Systems, for the overlap with V2X.
