Boyd Gaming runs casino properties in Las Vegas and across the Midwest and South, with hotels, restaurants and other amenities alongside gaming. Customers’ wagers, less winnings paid back to them, provide most of its revenue; slot machines contribute much more than table games. Guests also pay for rooms, meals and drinks. The Midwest and South properties generate the largest share of the company’s revenue, and the casino business depends heavily on customer visits and spending.
Online, FanDuel and other operators pay Boyd for access to markets where state law and regulatory approvals permit them to offer wagering. These partners also reimburse Boyd for gaming taxes and other expenses it pays on their behalf, a substantial source of revenue separate from access fees. Boyd Interactive runs online casinos under brands including Stardust and licenses its gaming platform to other online casino businesses in the United States and Canada. Boyd also earns fees for managing Sky River Casino for Wilton Rancheria.
Boyd must maintain gaming licenses and regulatory approvals to operate its casinos. State laws and approvals also limit where it can offer online sports betting and casino gaming.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
PENN Entertainment competes with Boyd for regional casino visitors’ slot spending and online casino play. Its PENN Play loyalty program and cross-selling between casinos and online games are worth watching for pressure on Boyd’s customer spending.
Red Rock Resorts, Inc.’s Station Casinos competes directly with Boyd’s Las Vegas Locals properties for residents’ repeat visits and slot spending. Watch its property refreshes and expansions: slots generate approximately 80% of its casino revenue.
Caesars Entertainment competes with Boyd for U.S. casino visitors and online wagering spending across multiple states. Its Caesars Rewards program links gambling, hotel and dining spending across destinations and online, making its efforts to win more of each customer’s budget worth watching.
MGM Resorts International competes with Boyd for U.S. casino and online gaming customers, but its greater exposure to destination resorts and Macau makes its overall results a less direct comparison. Its U.S. regional casino gaming revenue is the closer line to watch, since its Las Vegas Strip resorts typically earn more than half of net revenue outside gaming.
Flutter Entertainment’s FanDuel pays Boyd for access to state online sports-betting markets, while its online casinos compete with Boyd Interactive for players. Watch the access fees rather than an equity stake: Boyd sold its 5% FanDuel interest on July 31, 2025, and lower fees under new agreements reduced Boyd’s online margins.
Bally’s Corporation competes with Boyd for U.S. regional casino visitors and online casino players, earning money from both physical and digital gaming. Its Chicago resort development is a concrete project to watch for changes in regional casino competition.
Full House Resorts, Inc. competes with Boyd for casino visitors in Indiana and Mississippi, and both earn fees by letting sports-betting operators use their state market access. Its Rising Star and Silver Slipper casinos show the local rivalry, while Contracted Sports Wagering revenue offers a comparison for Boyd’s access-fee business.
Century Casinos and Boyd both depend on customers’ visits and gambling budgets at regional U.S. casinos. Century’s separately reported U.S. East, Midwest and West results provide a regional comparison for Boyd’s casino business, rather than mixing in its Canadian and Polish operations.
Monarch Casino & Resort Inc and Boyd both rely on casino visits and use rooms and dining to attract gambling customers. Watch gaming activity at Monarch’s Reno and Black Hawk resorts alongside hotel and restaurant results to distinguish casino demand from spending on those amenities.
EIA Crude Oil Stocks Change (Oct/16)
Boyd Gaming’s Downtown Las Vegas hotels rely on Hawaiian visitors, so the weekly US crude oil and gasoline stocks report matters because tighter fuel supply can raise travel costs and reduce their visits, gaming and hotel revenue.
Read falling stocks as a sign of tighter fuel supply that could raise travel costs and deter Hawaiian visits to Boyd Gaming’s Downtown Las Vegas hotels; rising stocks may ease that pressure and support gaming and room revenue.

Boyd Gaming's report will show whether customers' slot spending is turning into operating profit, rather than revenue growth coming from online reimbursements that carry an equal expense.
Read casino gaming revenue and slot win alongside segment Adjusted EBITDAR, Boyd's measure of segment performance that excludes rent and certain other items. If both rise, more customer spending is translating into stronger operating earnings. Online reimbursement revenue comes with an equal expense, so growth in that line does not itself add operating income. If gaming revenue or Adjusted EBITDAR weakens, the core casino business is not keeping up; the conclusion rests on gaming and segment earnings, not the revenue total.
Monarch Casino & Resort Inc earningsMCRI
Monarch's report separates casino activity from hotel and restaurant results, helping show whether casino customers are still wagering or are also cutting back on the rest of a trip.
Read Monarch's gaming results beside its room and restaurant results. Steady gaming with weaker rooms and dining would mean customers are still wagering but spending less on the rest of the trip; weakness in both would point to pressure on casino and travel spending together. For Boyd, the split helps distinguish softer wagering from customers cutting back on non-gaming parts of a casino visit.
Red Rock Resorts, Inc. earningsRRR
Red Rock Resorts' report will show whether Station Casinos' property upgrades and expansions are drawing repeat visits and slot spending from Las Vegas residents who also have Boyd's local casinos to choose from.
Read Station Casinos' gaming and slot results alongside its refreshes and expansions. Stronger slot results would show that customer spending is responding to its investment, sharpening competition for local visits at Boyd's Las Vegas properties. Weaker results would offer less evidence that the investment is drawing customers, but would not prove that Boyd is winning them instead.
Full House Resorts, Inc. earningsFLL
Full House Resorts' report will show how its contracted sports-wagering business is faring, offering a comparison for the access fees Boyd earns from online operators.
Look at Full House's Contracted Sports Wagering revenue separately from its casino results. Growth would show that its business providing state-market access to sports-wagering operators is expanding, a favorable comparison for Boyd's access-fee business; a decline would show pressure at Full House. Their contracts and fee rates differ, so this comparison indicates the direction of a similar business, not Boyd's own fee terms.
Retail Sales MoM (Oct)
Boyd Gaming’s casino properties depend on discretionary entertainment spending, so US retail sales matter because they indicate whether customers have money to spend on visits, gaming and hotel stays.
Read stronger sales as evidence that consumers are spending more, which may support visits and gaming and hotel revenue at Boyd Gaming’s properties; weaker sales may signal tighter discretionary budgets and less customer spending there.
