Company

Company overview

Rush Street Interactive, Inc. serves players through apps and websites under brands including BetRivers and PlaySugarHouse, and uses RushBet in Colombia, Mexico and Peru. Almost all revenue comes directly from consumers rather than services sold to other gaming businesses. The United States and Canada generate most of its revenue, with Latin America supplying the rest.

In most casino games, players bet against the company, which keeps what remains after paying winning bets and customer incentives. In sports betting, it sets odds with a built-in margin and earns from wagers left after payouts and incentives; sporting results can make that income fluctuate. In poker, players compete against one another, and the company collects a commission on wagers and tournament entry fees instead.

The business depends on players continuing to use its services and on permission to operate in each market. It needs gaming licenses and approvals, and in most jurisdictions it also needs a local casino, tribe, track or professional sports team to provide legally authorized market access. Losing that relationship would stop operations there until a replacement is secured.

Rush Street Interactive’s results hinge on regulated online wagering demand, gaming taxes and customer retention, with Kambi Group an important provider of the platform that manages sportsbook risk and trading.

  • DraftKings competes with Rush Street Interactive for customers who place sports bets and play casino games online in regulated North American markets. Watch DraftKings’ spending on products and marketing to attract those players; its sports betting revenue can also swing with event outcomes, not just customer demand.

  • Flutter Entertainment’s FanDuel directly competes with Rush Street Interactive for U.S. customers betting on sports and playing casino games online. FanDuel’s sportsbook revenue reflects customer bets less winnings and promotional costs, so those costs matter alongside wagering demand when assessing the competition.

  • Caesars Entertainment competes with Rush Street Interactive for online casino and sports betting customers, using its land-based casino loyalty database to attract players online. Watch how Caesars Rewards connects casino, hotel and dining customers with online wagering through member-data marketing.

  • PENN Entertainment’s online sportsbook and casino platform competes with Rush Street Interactive for players’ wagers, but land-based casinos dominate PENN’s broader business. Its Interactive results are more relevant to that rivalry than retail casino results, though the segment also includes sportsbook management and media.

  • Codere Online Luxembourg, S.A. competes with Rush Street Interactive’s RushBet for customers’ online casino and sports wagers in Mexico and Colombia. Watch its average monthly active players in those two markets to gauge the competing customer base, rather than relying on its wider business results.

  • Super Group (SGHC) Limited’s Betway and Spin businesses compete with Rush Street Interactive for online betting and casino customers, but their substantially different geographic revenue mixes make Super Group’s overall results a less direct comparison.

  • Rush Street Interactive offers online casino games supplied by Inspired Entertainment, linking Inspired’s Interactive content business to players’ wagering on Rush Street’s platform. Watch that content business rather than Inspired’s gaming-machine operations; Rush Street also develops its own casino games, which it says carry higher margins than licensed games.
