Accenture plc helps large companies and government agencies redesign how they work and build and run the technology behind their operations. Clients pay its consulting business to redesign processes and implement changes such as modernizing data systems or adopting cloud technology and AI. They pay its managed services business to operate business functions, develop and maintain applications, and manage technology infrastructure. Consulting and managed services contribute roughly equally to revenue.
Accenture delivers this work through its workforce, technology partners and proprietary platforms such as GenWizard, SynOps and reinvention.AI. Most revenue is tied to its key ecosystem partnerships: partners engage Accenture to help enterprises adopt their technologies and put them to use. Compensation is its largest operating expense, so delivery and profitability depend on matching employees’ skills and availability to client demand.
Accenture Federal Services handles U.S. federal government work. Because Accenture is incorporated in Ireland, a proxy agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense enables the subsidiary to perform certain work while restricting Accenture’s control over its management and operations.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Accenture’s results hinge on enterprise transformation and outsourcing budgets, so also watch Tata Consultancy Services, Capgemini and Deloitte—important rivals absent from this list.
Cognizant competes with Accenture for clients’ spending on consulting, building applications, managing IT infrastructure and running business processes. Demand for Cognizant’s technology modernization and process services offers a read on the budgets both pursue.
Infosys competes with Accenture for enterprise clients paying for consulting, installing business applications, cloud modernization and ongoing IT management. Watch demand for its application and cloud services as a sign of clients’ willingness to fund technology upgrades.
CGI competes with Accenture to advise clients, connect their technology systems and take over IT functions and business processes. Its managed-services demand is worth watching for appetite to hand operations to an outside provider.
Wipro competes with Accenture for clients paying for consulting, application modernization, infrastructure management and business-process services. Watch its IT Services business rather than its separate IT Products sales for the closer overlap with Accenture.
IBM Consulting competes directly with Accenture for enterprise transformation projects, helping clients modernize applications and use cloud technology, data and AI. Watch IBM’s consulting business for this rivalry, since IBM also sells software and infrastructure.
EPAM competes with Accenture to design and build enterprise software and deliver cloud, data and AI transformations for paying clients. Its software engineering and AI transformation work offers a view of demand for turning technology plans into working systems.
DXC competes with Accenture for clients’ consulting, software engineering, enterprise application and infrastructure services contracts. Its Consulting & Engineering Services and Global Infrastructure Services businesses are the relevant areas to watch for this overlap.
Genpact competes with Accenture for clients paying to redesign and run business processes using data, automation and AI. Its work for banking, capital-markets and insurance clients offers a concrete window into financial firms’ outsourcing demand.
Globant competes with Accenture for clients’ software engineering, digital experience and enterprise technology transformation projects. Its access to clients’ IT, research and development, and marketing budgets makes those spending decisions relevant to this rivalry.
ExlService Holdings, Inc. competes with Accenture to run clients’ business operations and embed data, analytics and AI in their workflows. Watch its digital operations work, which EXL describes as a foundation for further AI transformation projects.
Endava competes with Accenture for clients paying for advice and for building, deploying and improving digital products and enterprise systems. Its software engineering and data and AI services offer a read on demand for digital transformation work.
Concentrix competes with Accenture for clients’ customer-experience transformation and outsourced front- and back-office work. Demand for its customer service, sales, finance and compliance operations helps show where clients want an outside provider to run processes.
CI&T competes with Accenture for clients’ software development, maintenance and digital consulting work. Watch spending by its existing clients: they supply a substantial part of revenue, and many agreements and work orders can be terminated with or without cause.
International Business Machines Corporation earningsIBM
IBM Consulting’s results will show whether enterprises are still funding hybrid-cloud, data and AI upgrades that IBM and Accenture both compete to deliver.
Look at IBM Consulting’s work tied to hybrid cloud, data and AI. If it strengthens, enterprises are still funding upgrades Accenture also sells, but IBM is competing for those budgets; if it weakens, those budgets may be cooling, though IBM-specific execution could also explain the result.
SERVICENOW, INC. earningsNOW
ServiceNow’s software results will show whether companies are adopting automated, AI-enabled workflows that can bring Accenture implementation work.
Watch adoption in customer service, HR and finance. If it grows, companies are moving these processes onto automated workflows, which can create implementation work for Accenture; if it weakens, related transformation projects may be less urgent. Software adoption alone does not mean Accenture has won the work.
Leidos Holdings, Inc. earningsLDOS
Leidos’s government contract and procurement news will show whether U.S. federal spending pressures are also reaching Accenture’s federal business.
Watch Leidos’s procurement and contract scopes alongside Accenture’s reported U.S. federal contract delays and cuts. Stable Leidos contracts would suggest some support for agencies’ technology-services demand; delays or cuts there too would heighten concern about Accenture’s federal work, which represented about 8% of its fiscal 2025 revenue.
CGI Inc. earningsGIB
CGI Inc.’s contracts to take over clients’ IT functions will show whether companies are still outsourcing the systems work that also supports demand for Accenture’s managed services.
Watch whether CGI Inc. takes on more contracts to run all or part of clients’ IT functions. More such work would show that companies are still outsourcing systems operations, a source of demand for Accenture’s managed services too; less would suggest clients may be more cautious about long-term outsourcing commitments.

Accenture’s report will show whether clients are still signing and funding its consulting projects and managed services, and whether it can protect the profit on delivering that work.
Read bookings alongside revenue. Bookings measure work signed, including new contracts, renewals, extensions and changes to existing contracts; managed-services contracts often take longer to turn into revenue. Rising bookings and revenue in both consulting and managed services, with pricing and operating margin holding steady, would show demand converting into profitable work. Weaker bookings or revenue alongside a falling margin would point to softer demand or pressure from pricing and delivery costs.
