Republic Bancorp’s business depends on its subsidiary, Republic Bank & Trust Company. Traditional banking under the RB&T brand supplies most of its revenue. The bank takes deposits and uses deposits and borrowings to fund business, property and household loans, as well as securities investments. Its earnings depend heavily on the gap between what these assets earn and what funding costs. Its branch business is concentrated in Kentucky and selected nearby and southeastern markets.
The bank also lends to mortgage bankers nationwide, temporarily financing mortgages they have already closed until investors buy them. It earns interest and fees while the financing is outstanding; proceeds from the mortgage sales repay the advances.
Republic Processing Group adds a nationwide business delivered through third-party providers. Republic Credit Solutions earns interest and fees from small consumer loans, often to borrowers with weaker credit, and sells much of the lending exposure to third parties. Its revenue leans heavily on lines of credit, and continued lending depends on buyers for those loans. Republic Payment Solutions provides card, deposit and payment services through partners, earning program and card-transaction fees alongside interest income supported by program deposits.
Tax Refund Solutions advances money against expected tax refunds and processes refunds so taxpayers can pay preparation fees from the proceeds. It earns advance fees and a share of refund-processing fees, mainly during the first half of the year. Advance repayment depends on refunds arriving, without recourse to taxpayers if refunds fall short. Its former largest tax-provider contract, which supplied most advance-fee income, was not renewed for the current tax season. Consumer-finance laws govern the partner programs’ terms, rates and fees, and compliance failures can require the bank to stop offering them.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.

Community Trust Bancorp’s report will show how loan and deposit pricing is shifting in central Kentucky, where it competes with Republic Bancorp for borrowers and deposits.
Read Community Trust’s loan yields alongside its deposit costs. Steady loan yields and contained deposit costs would suggest competition is not forcing major concessions to borrowers or richer rates for depositors. Falling loan yields with rising deposit costs would show customer competition squeezing the spread, a tougher pricing backdrop for Republic in central Kentucky.

Customers Bancorp’s report will show whether mortgage bankers are using more or less short-term warehouse financing, the same market Republic Bancorp serves.
Look for Customers Bancorp’s mortgage-warehouse lending income and balances. Stable or rising figures would suggest mortgage bankers still use these short-term advances and repay them through loan sales to investors, supporting the market Republic serves. Declines would point to weaker use or slower loan-sale and repayment flows, a tighter setting for Republic’s warehouse business.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
Republic Bancorp earns money on loans and investments after paying for deposits and borrowings, so Fed rate decisions can change both sides of that spread and its net interest income.

If it comes in above expectations
Higher rates could lift yields on repricing loans and investments, but if deposit and borrowing costs rise faster, Republic Bancorp’s net interest margin—the gap between interest earned and paid relative to earning assets—could narrow.
If it comes in below expectations
Lower rates could ease what Republic Bancorp pays for deposits and borrowings, but if yields on its loans and investments fall faster, its net interest margin could narrow instead.
