Company

Company overview

Orrstown Financial Services Inc owns Orrstown Bank, which serves businesses and individuals mainly in south-central Pennsylvania, the greater Baltimore region and Washington County, Maryland. The bank uses customer deposits as its main funding source, lending primarily for business purposes, including commercial property, equipment and working capital. It also makes home loans and holds investment securities. Interest from borrowers and securities supplies most revenue; the bank pays interest on deposits and borrowed funds.

Clients also pay for trust and investment-management services offered under the Orrstown Financial Advisors name, while deposit-account services and card transactions generate additional income.

The business depends on retaining deposits at manageable costs and on borrowers’ ability to repay, particularly in its local business and property markets. Changes in lending yields and funding costs affect what the bank keeps from interest income. The parent company relies mainly on dividends from Orrstown Bank, and banking law and capital requirements limit how much the bank can pay it.
