JELD-WEN Holding, Inc. supplies interior and exterior doors and windows for new buildings and renovation projects. Doors provide most of its revenue, with windows a smaller business. North America is its largest market, selling both doors and windows; its European business focuses mainly on doors for residential and non-residential buildings.
Wholesale distributors, building-product dealers and home-improvement retailers buy its products to supply builders, contractors and consumers. The Home Depot and Lowe’s are particularly important customers, and a small group of large customers supplies a substantial share of revenue. JELD-WEN generally has no long-term customer contracts, so those buyers are not committed to keep purchasing.
Sales depend on construction and repair-and-remodel spending. Profitability also depends on material costs and whether the company can raise selling prices to cover them; large buyers’ bargaining power limits that ability. Its doors and windows must meet local building and safety standards, which shape product specifications and what customers can use.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
JELD-WEN also faces important competition from privately held door maker Steves & Sons and window makers Andersen, Pella and Marvin, none of which appears in this list.
Owens Corning’s Masonite business competes for interior- and exterior-door sales with JELD-WEN, whose doors generated 68% of net revenue in 2025. Watch Owens Corning’s Doors results rather than its roofing and insulation businesses for the closer read on competition facing JELD-WEN.
Fortune Brands Innovations competes with JELD-WEN through Therma-Tru exterior doors sold through building-product wholesalers and home-improvement retailers. Its Therma-Tru news is more relevant to JELD-WEN’s exterior-door business than results from its faucets or security products.
JELD-WEN depends heavily on Home Depot, which accounted for approximately 17% of its consolidated net revenue in 2025 by buying products for resale. Home Depot’s building-material and home-improvement sales to consumers and professional contractors offer a view of demand in this major channel for JELD-WEN’s doors and windows.
Lowe’s purchasing decisions carry substantial weight for JELD-WEN: the home-improvement retailer accounted for approximately 13% of JELD-WEN’s consolidated net revenue in 2025. Watch Lowe’s product-line reviews and pricing negotiations, since large customers can reduce purchases and limit JELD-WEN’s ability to pass on higher costs.
Builders FirstSource buys JELD-WEN products and resells doors, windows and other building materials to professional builders, so U.S. homebuilding and remodeling activity reaches both businesses. Its window and door sales give a more direct view of JELD-WEN’s market than its broader mix of lumber, framing and installation services.
Quanex shares JELD-WEN’s window and door production cycle: it sells components to manufacturers, while JELD-WEN sells finished doors and windows for construction and remodeling. Demand for Quanex’s window and door seals, screens and hardware is the relevant signal, rather than its solar or cabinetry products.
MasterBrand’s cabinets depend on the same North American new-home and remodeling spending that supports JELD-WEN’s doors and windows, with both selling through dealers, builders and home centers. MasterBrand’s cabinet sales through Lowe’s and Home Depot offer a view of spending in two channels that also buy from JELD-WEN.
James Hardie’s siding and trim serve the residential construction and renovation projects that also create demand for JELD-WEN’s doors and windows. Watch its Siding & Trim sales through distributors, lumberyards and home-improvement retailers to contractors and builders in the U.S. and Canada.
Mohawk’s flooring and JELD-WEN’s doors and windows both depend on construction and remodeling projects in U.S. and international markets. Mohawk’s sales of flooring for residential and commercial projects provide a broader view of that spending, rather than a direct measure of door and window demand.
Masco’s paint and plumbing products depend on homeowners’ improvement spending, as do JELD-WEN’s replacement doors and windows. Watch BEHR paint and its Decorative Architectural Products sales, which normally strengthen in the second and third calendar quarters alongside peak repair and remodeling activity.
Housing Starts (Sep)
Housing starts, permits and new-home sales track new residential building activity, a market for JELD-WEN’s doors and windows; more building can support customer orders and sales volume, while less can reduce them.
Expected1.31MLast release1.275M
If it comes in above expectations
If the reading is above the 1.31M estimate, it is above the previous 1.275M. More building than expected can support orders from JELD-WEN’s wholesale distributors, retailers and contractors, lifting sales volume of its doors and windows for new homes.
If it comes in below expectations
Less building than expected can mean fewer orders from JELD-WEN’s wholesale distributors, retailers and contractors, reducing sales volume of its doors and windows for new homes.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
The Fed’s policy rate—the benchmark that influences borrowing costs—matters to JELD-WEN because higher rates can make mortgages and other financing more expensive, weighing on demand for its doors and windows, while raising costs on variable-rate debt.
Expected4.0%Last release4.0%
If it comes in above expectations
Higher-than-expected rates may make home financing costlier and weaken housing-related demand for JELD-WEN’s doors and windows; debt that reprices may also cost the company more to service.
If it comes in below expectations
Lower-than-expected rates may ease home financing costs and support demand for JELD-WEN’s doors and windows; debt that reprices may also become cheaper to service.
Builders FirstSource, Inc. earningsBLDR
Builders FirstSource resells JELD-WEN doors and windows, so its related sales offer a direct read on demand through the professional-builder channel.
Focus on Builders FirstSource’s window and door sales, not just its broader business in lumber, framing materials and installation. Steady sales would suggest demand for these products through the professional-builder channel is holding up. A decline would point to weaker orders in the market JELD-WEN serves, but would not by itself prove JELD-WEN lost share. The key conclusion is whether channel demand for doors and windows is holding or weakening.
JELD-WEN Holding, Inc. earningsThis company
Doors make up most of JELD-WEN’s revenue, and this report will show whether sales volume, product mix and pricing can support its margins.
Start with Core Revenues, JELD-WEN’s measure of organic performance, then look at volume/mix—how many products it sold and which kinds—and price realization. If volume/mix steadies and pricing helps offset costs while gross margin holds, demand and the company’s pricing and cost management are supporting the business. If volume/mix weakens further and gross margin falls, soft demand and price-cost pressure are outweighing productivity gains.
Owens Corning earningsOC
Owens Corning’s Doors business competes with JELD-WEN for door sales, and its report will show how that rival’s door business is faring.
Read the sales performance of Owens Corning’s Doors business, not its roofing or insulation results. Stronger Doors results would show a rival sustaining momentum in a market shared with JELD-WEN; weaker results would mean less evidence of rival strength, but could also reflect a softer market rather than sales shifting to JELD-WEN. The distinction is whether the signal points to competitor momentum or to the broader door market.
Lowe's Companies Inc. earningsLOW
Lowe’s accounted for about 13% of JELD-WEN’s revenue in 2025, so its sales and buying signals matter for demand and pricing pressure in this major customer channel.
Read Lowe’s home-improvement sales alongside any disclosed changes in product assortment or supplier pricing. Steady sales and buying or pricing signals would support demand and JELD-WEN’s room to sell through this major channel. A narrower assortment or pressure on purchase prices could mean fewer orders or less ability for JELD-WEN to pass on higher costs. The conclusion is whether this large customer supports sales or is increasing pressure on price and order volume.
