Company

Company overview

Alamo Group supplies the machines used to clean streets, remove snow, maintain roadsides and manage land and trees. Industrial equipment, including vacuum trucks and street sweepers, brings in most revenue; mowing, forestry and tree-care equipment forms the other major business. Equipment sales are the main source of revenue, with replacement parts also making a significant contribution.

The company sells mainly through independent dealers and distributors, which serve government agencies, contractors, and agricultural and commercial turf customers. It also sells directly to contractors and municipalities. A substantial share of revenue comes from governments and related contractors, though no single customer or customer group dominates sales.

Demand therefore depends heavily on public budgets for highway, airport, roadside and park maintenance, as well as farm income and agricultural conditions. Products using regulated engines must meet emissions standards, including U.S. federal and California requirements; failure to comply can restrict sales.
