Company

Company overview

Most of YD Bio’s revenue comes from drugs and medical products sold in Taiwan, and corporate customers account for nearly all sales. It buys products for resale and supplies pharmaceutical companies with drugs, devices and laboratory equipment for clinical trials, alongside procurement, logistics coordination and compliance support. Its products include Keytruda. Novartis, Zuelling and Alcon together provide more than half of revenue, but none is required to make minimum purchases.

In the United States, YD Bio markets blood tests that look for cancer-related changes in DNA. It licenses the technology from EG BioMed, whose certified laboratory performs the tests, and pays EG BioMed royalties on sales using its pancreatic- and breast-cancer technologies. Patients can initiate testing through the EG Telehealth Platform, but a licensed healthcare professional must authorize the order before sample collection. These laboratory-developed tests have not received FDA clearance or approval; they are not sold as fully direct-to-consumer tests.

YD Bio also sells Exolens Hioxifilcon contact lenses in the United States and is developing treatments for dry eye, glaucoma and corneal repair using technology licensed from 3D Global. Those treatments remain in development, and commercialization depends on maintaining the license and obtaining required regulatory approvals. Revenue remains limited, and the company needs additional financing to support operations and development.

YD Bio’s diagnostic expansion depends on EG BioMed’s licensed technology and laboratory, while its ocular platform relies on 3D Global, which supplied 83.7% of its 2025 purchases.

  • Novartis buys clinical-trial drugs, devices and laboratory-equipment services from YD Bio in Taiwan, accounting for roughly 32% of YD Bio’s 2025 revenue. The prescription-medicine maker has no minimum purchase obligation, so its Taiwan trial-supply orders matter directly to YD Bio’s sales.

  • Alcon pays YD Bio for medical products and services in Taiwan, but also competes with its contact-lens and ocular-health offerings. YD Bio’s revenue from Alcon fell from $162,871 in 2024 to $51,209 in 2025, excluding VAT, and Alcon has no minimum purchase obligation.

  • Guardant Health competes with YD Bio for physician-ordered blood tests used to detect cancer early and monitor it, selling tests to clinical customers and billing insurers for qualifying patients. Its Shield screening revenue is the line to watch for competition with YD Bio’s early-detection services.

  • GRAIL competes with YD Bio by analyzing methylation patterns in DNA circulating in blood to detect cancer, the same type of approach YD Bio licenses from EG BioMed. GRAIL also sells a research-use-only platform to oncology and biopharmaceutical partners; watch those trial partnerships, whose delays or termination can disrupt that revenue without signaling weaker demand for YD Bio’s clinical tests.

  • Natera’s personalized cancer blood tests compete with YD Bio’s cancer-monitoring tests and licensed breast-cancer recurrence and treatment-response technology. Natera sells directly and through laboratory and distribution partners, so its oncology testing business—not prenatal or transplant testing—is the relevant comparison for YD Bio.

  • Personalis competes with YD Bio in tests physicians use to detect cancer recurrence and track treatment response, while also selling testing services to pharmaceutical companies. Watch evidence behind its claim that its residual-cancer tests can detect recurrence months before imaging: that is a concrete point of competition for YD Bio’s monitoring services.

  • Burning Rock develops blood-based early cancer detection tests alongside YD Bio, with potential overlap in China if YD Bio’s planned expansion succeeds. Burning Rock also sells cancer therapy-selection tests and helps Chinese hospitals run their own testing labs, making recurring reagent-kit sales to those hospitals a concrete line to watch as YD Bio plans support for six authorized clinical laboratories in China.
