Company

Company overview

Americas Gold and Silver Corporation operates the Galena Complex in Idaho and Cosalá Operations in Sinaloa, Mexico. It processes mined ore into concentrates, with silver, copper and lead supplying most of its revenue. Buyers typically make an initial payment when concentrates are delivered, then settle the balance later using prevailing metal prices.

Cosalá has shifted from San Rafael’s zinc-lead-silver ore toward EC120’s silver-copper ore, and EC120 is now in commercial production. Trafigura receives all EC120 silver-copper concentrate under a financing and purchase agreement. Across the company, sales are concentrated among a small group of buyers, although it says alternative markets exist and it is not economically dependent on any single customer. Its Relief Canyon gold mine in Nevada remains suspended and on care and maintenance.

Cash flow depends on continued mine production, concentrate shipments and access to smelting services, while metal prices strongly influence profitability. Continuing operations also depends on achieving profitable production, meeting debt covenants and obtaining financing as needed. The mines must maintain operating permits and comply with environmental rules, including mine-closure and land-restoration requirements.

Know what’s buried in USAS’s filings before you buy

The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.

  • Avino Silver & Gold Mines and Americas Gold and Silver share exposure to silver and copper prices: both mine silver-copper ore in Mexico and sell concentrates to buyers. Avino’s copper concentrate sales offer a closer comparison as Americas shifts Cosalá toward EC120’s silver-copper ore.

  • Endeavour Silver and Americas Gold and Silver share silver-price and concentrate-sale exposure, producing silver from underground mines and selling metal concentrates. Endeavour’s Kolpa sales are the closest product comparison: its concentrates contain silver, lead, zinc and copper.

  • First Majestic and Americas Gold and Silver both rely on silver prices and the performance of their silver-producing mines in Mexico. First Majestic’s Mexican mine production is the useful comparison, rather than its separate business selling silver bars and rounds to shareholders and bullion customers.

  • Santacruz Silver Mining and Americas Gold and Silver both sell silver-bearing concentrates containing zinc, lead and copper, so more than silver prices matters to their revenue. Watch Santacruz’s silver and zinc sales, which generate substantially all its revenue; Americas’ main revenue metals are silver, copper and lead.

  • Silvercorp Metals shares Americas Gold and Silver’s exposure to silver prices and the value of associated lead and zinc production. Silvercorp’s silver-lead-zinc output from Ying and GC in China offers a comparison for those metals, while Americas’ sales also include copper.

  • Pan American Silver and Americas Gold and Silver both produce and sell silver alongside zinc, lead and copper, so sales of those other metals can offset silver-production costs. Watch Pan American’s zinc and lead contribution: lower credits from those metals offset part of Americas’ higher silver revenue in fiscal 2025.

  • Americas Gold and Silver depends on United States Antimony to build and operate their jointly owned Idaho antimony processing facility, which will buy feed material from Americas’ Galena Complex on market terms. Watch construction, permitting and technical progress at United States Antimony; the venture also needs adequate feed from Americas’ mines.

  • Coeur Mining and Americas Gold and Silver share silver-price exposure through North American mines, including Mexico; the Coeur-named assets at Galena do not establish a current corporate relationship. Coeur’s Las Chispas silver-gold production offers a Mexican mine comparison, with its refined bullion sold to banks, bullion traders and refiners.

  • Buenaventura and Americas Gold and Silver both produce substantial silver output and sell silver-bearing concentrates with lead, zinc and copper, tying their sales to several metal prices. Watch Buenaventura’s sales-price adjustments: its smelter and trader contracts reset prices after shipment, so metal-price changes can reach reported revenue later.

  • Wheaton Precious Metals and Americas Gold and Silver both have material exposure to silver prices, but Wheaton buys silver under mine-streaming agreements and resells it, while Americas mines it. This is a shared price exposure, not a demonstrated direct contract between the companies.
