Company

Company overview

Pool Corporation supplies the businesses that keep pools running and carry out pool construction and renovation. It buys from manufacturers, stocks products at local sales centers and resells them to pool service companies, builders and specialty retailers, most of them small businesses. These customers pay for chemicals, replacement parts, equipment and building materials. The company also distributes irrigation and landscape maintenance products to contractors.

Most sales come from routine maintenance and minor repairs of existing pools, rather than new construction. Keeping water safe and pumps, filters and heaters working creates repeat demand; renovations and new pools provide the smaller, more discretionary part of the business. Sales are overwhelmingly in North America, with a large share concentrated in California, Florida, Texas and Arizona. Demand peaks during the warmer pool-use and installation seasons and depends partly on weather.

No single customer dominates sales, but Pentair, Zodiac Pool Systems and Hayward Holdings are major suppliers, making those relationships important to product availability and purchasing costs. Selling and handling chemicals requires compliance with labeling, storage and transport rules; algaecides and pest-control products also require pesticide registrations and licensing.

Pool Corporation relies chiefly on upkeep of existing pools; also watch Zodiac Pool Systems, which supplied approximately 12% of its 2025 product costs.

  • Pool Corporation depends on Pentair for pool equipment it resells to builders, retailers and service businesses; Pentair supplied approximately 20% of its 2025 product costs. Watch Pentair’s Pool business for demand tied to equipment replacement, upgrades and new pool construction.

  • Hayward Holdings, Inc. supplies pool equipment that Pool Corporation resells to pool professionals, accounting for approximately 11% of Pool Corporation’s 2025 product costs. Watch Hayward’s replacement and upgrade demand, especially connected and energy-efficient equipment, for a read on spending to maintain and improve existing pools.

  • Home Depot competes with Pool Corporation through its SRS businesses selling pool and landscape supplies to professional customers. Watch SRS’s pool and landscape operations rather than Home Depot’s broader home-improvement retail sales for competition over pool builders, service businesses and landscape contractors.

  • SiteOne Landscape Supply, Inc. competes with Pool Corporation for landscape contractors buying irrigation, landscape maintenance and hardscape supplies wholesale. SiteOne’s sales of those products offer a view of the contractor demand facing Pool Corporation’s landscape business, not its core pool business.

    Fed Interest Rate Decision

POOL sells pool supplies and equipment to pool businesses, so interest-rate decisions matter because borrowing costs can shape customers’ pool-building and remodeling projects and the interest POOL pays on variable-rate debt.
