PodcastOne brings together podcast creators, supports their production and marketing, and distributes their shows through its own services and platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Amazon. Listeners get the content free; advertisers, usually buying through agencies, pay to reach them. Substantially all revenue comes from advertising and sponsorship within podcast episodes. Ads may be read by hosts or inserted into episodes, with charges based on measured advertising impressions. PodcastOne shares revenue with creators.
The business depends on keeping popular hosts and their audiences, attracting advertising budgets, and measuring the audience advertisers reach. Some creator contracts require upfront payments or minimum guarantees, so content costs do not always fall when advertising sales weaken. Content licenses also restrict how PodcastOne can use shows, and some require permission for new business initiatives.
ART19, an Amazon subsidiary, is an important revenue partner. Its agreement provides minimum guaranteed revenue tied to specified advertising impression levels and includes revenue sharing. PodcastOne also depends on financing: it is seeking additional funds to maintain operations. It guarantees debt issued by its controlling parent, LiveOne, with its assets pledged as collateral; the debt agreements restrict certain investments, acquisitions and asset sales without lender consent.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
PodcastOne depends on podcast audiences, advertising demand and keeping creators, with privately held Dear Media and Barstool Sports also competing for listeners.
LiveOne remains PodcastOne’s majority owner and includes its podcast advertising business as a separate operating segment in its consolidated results. LiveOne earns money from music subscribers and advertisers as well as other businesses, so its PodcastOne segment—not its overall revenue—is the direct read on the podcast business.
SiriusXM competes with PodcastOne for podcast listeners and advertisers through its podcast network and audio ad sales business, although subscriptions are its main revenue source. Watch its podcast audience and audio advertising business for signs of competition for the ad budgets that fund PodcastOne’s free shows.
Spotify Technology competes with PodcastOne for podcast listeners and creators, offering paid streaming subscriptions and tools that help creators earn money from their work. Its creator tools are worth watching against PodcastOne’s own pitch: production and marketing support, plus a share of advertising revenue.
Amazon both supports and competes with PodcastOne: its ART19 subsidiary hosts the network under a three-year service and advertising agreement signed in April 2025, while Amazon Music competes for audio listeners. Watch whether the ART19 arrangement brings the additional ways to earn money from its podcast library that PodcastOne expects.
Alphabet’s YouTube carries PodcastOne’s video content but also competes for audience attention and the advertisers that pay both businesses. YouTube advertising results are worth watching as a read on competition for video ad spending, rather than a direct measure of PodcastOne’s podcast ad revenue.
Spotify Technology S.A. earningsSPOT
Spotify Technology’s report will show whether its creator tools are competing for the podcasters whose shows supply PodcastOne’s advertising inventory.
Look for evidence of creator use and engagement with Spotify’s tools. Strong uptake would show Spotify competing not just for listeners but for creators, putting more pressure on PodcastOne’s offer of production and marketing support in return for a share of ad revenue. Weak uptake would suggest less pressure on that creator pitch.
Amazon.Com Inc earningsAMZN
Amazon’s report may show whether the ART19 hosting and advertising arrangement is creating more ways for PodcastOne to earn from its podcast library.
Look for disclosures about ART19’s hosting or advertising services and for PodcastOne to identify added monetization from the arrangement. Clear evidence of progress would mean the partnership is widening revenue paths for PodcastOne’s library. If no progress is visible, PodcastOne remains more reliant on its existing ad sales; Amazon’s overall results alone would not establish the arrangement’s contribution.
PodcastOne, Inc. earningsThis company
PodcastOne sells ads against its podcast audience, and this report will show whether revenue growth is narrowing its operating loss.
Read advertising revenue alongside operating expenses and the operating loss. If revenue grows faster than expenses and the loss narrows, more listening and ad demand are translating into better economics for the network. If expenses keep pace with revenue and the loss does not narrow, audience and ad sales are not yet making the business more profitable.
