Sirius XM Holdings delivers music, talk and live sports through SiriusXM satellite radio in vehicles and through streaming apps. Listeners pay monthly or annual subscription fees, which provide most of the company’s revenue; streaming is included with virtually all satellite plans and is also sold separately. Automakers install its radios and usually include a trial with new vehicles. SiriusXM shares some subscription revenue with certain automakers and reimburses some installation costs. Subscriber growth depends heavily on new- and used-vehicle buyers choosing to pay for the service and staying subscribed after trials or promotions.
Its other business, Pandora and Off-platform, earns mainly from advertisers. Pandora offers personalized free radio with ads alongside paid radio and on-demand plans. SiriusXM Media sells advertising across SiriusXM, Pandora and podcasts, and represents SoundCloud in the United States and certain European countries. Advertisers pay to reach listeners; this business depends on listening hours and demand for those audiences.
The satellite service relies on its satellite network and FCC licenses, which govern its use of radio frequencies and require renewal. Its music services also depend on copyright licenses and royalty payments; losing music rights could force Pandora to remove songs or discontinue interactive features.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
SiriusXM’s largest revenue stream depends on keeping paying in-car subscribers and turning trials from new- and used-vehicle programs into paid subscriptions, not on audio advertising alone.
Spotify Technology competes with SiriusXM and Pandora for paying audio subscribers and music and podcast listeners, offering streaming music and podcasts while SiriusXM combines satellite radio with streaming. Watch Spotify’s Premium subscriber growth for a view of the competition facing SiriusXM and Pandora’s paid plans.
iHeartMedia, Inc. competes with SiriusXM’s channels, Pandora and its podcast network for listeners and advertisers through broadcast radio, iHeartRadio and podcasts. Its podcast and digital advertising results are worth watching alongside SiriusXM’s sales of ads across Pandora and podcasts.
LiveOne, Inc. competes with Pandora and SiriusXM’s podcast business for listeners, subscription payments and advertisers through its Slacker music service and PodcastOne network. Watch Slacker’s paid and ad-supported music business and PodcastOne’s advertising revenue, where that competition plays out.
PodcastOne, Inc. competes for the advertising budgets SiriusXM earns by selling ads on its podcast network and other podcasts, selling agencies ads read by hosts or inserted into episodes. Nearly all of PodcastOne’s revenue has come from ads within podcast episodes, making that revenue line a focused view of this competition.
Spotify Technology S.A. earningsSPOT
Spotify’s report will show whether it is still adding Premium subscribers, a signal of the competition SiriusXM and Pandora face for paying audio listeners.
Look at Premium subscriber growth. Faster growth would show Spotify drawing more listeners willing to pay for music and podcasts, making it harder for SiriusXM and Pandora to win paid subscribers; slower growth would suggest less pressure from this competitor, but would not tell you how SiriusXM’s own subscriber base changed.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
For SiriusXM, the Fed’s policy-rate decision signals the direction of borrowing costs, which can change interest paid on its SOFR-based variable-rate debt and the cost of refinancing, leaving more or less cash for running and investing in its audio services.

If it comes in above expectations
If the policy rate is above expectations, higher rates can raise interest on SiriusXM’s SOFR-based variable-rate borrowings and make refinancing costlier, leaving less cash for operating and investing in its audio services.
If it comes in below expectations
If the policy rate is below expectations, lower rates can ease interest on SiriusXM’s SOFR-based variable-rate borrowings and reduce refinancing costs, leaving more cash for operating and investing in its audio services.
Sirius XM Holdings, Inc earningsThis company
SiriusXM relies mainly on subscription fees, and this report will show whether higher rates are offsetting subscriber losses and greater use of promotional plans.
Read subscription revenue alongside subscriber counts and plan mix. Steady revenue with steady counts would show that higher rates are sticking without being offset by losses; falling revenue, or revenue held up only by greater use of promotional plans, would show that retention and plan mix are weakening the benefit of higher rates.
PodcastOne, Inc. earningsPODC
PodcastOne’s report will show how much advertising revenue it earns from podcast episodes, revealing how it is competing with SiriusXM for podcast ad budgets.
Look at the change in PodcastOne’s podcast advertising revenue. Rising revenue would show stronger ad spending or sales at this direct competitor, intensifying SiriusXM’s competition for podcast advertisers; falling revenue would show weakness at PodcastOne, but alone would not prove that the wider podcast ad market or SiriusXM’s own sales are declining.
