Alphabet owns Google, whose Search and YouTube services connect advertisers with people seeking information or watching content. Advertisers pay to attract clicks, customer responses or brand awareness on these services and on partner websites and apps. Online advertising supplies most of Alphabet’s revenue, with Search carrying the largest share. Google also pays distribution partners, publishers and content providers that help support this business.
A second business, Google Cloud, supplies companies with computing infrastructure, software platforms and workplace tools through Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace. Customers pay according to usage or through subscriptions. Consumers also pay for services such as YouTube Premium and Google One, which includes access to Gemini models.
The advertising business depends on keeping its services useful to users and delivering results that persuade advertisers to keep spending. It also depends on distribution and content partners continuing to work with Google. A US search-antitrust judgment restricts service distribution and requires Google to share certain search data and provide syndication services to certain competitors. Google has appealed and sought to pause some remedies.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Beyond this list, watch OpenAI and Anthropic for Alphabet’s AI competition and ByteDance for its advertising rivalry.
Meta Platforms competes with Google for the same marketers’ budgets, selling targeted ads on social apps while Google sells them across Search, YouTube and partner sites. Meta’s Facebook and Instagram advertising results offer a comparison for demand from brands and advertisers seeking clicks and sales.
Microsoft competes with Google for business customers’ cloud and software spending through Azure and Microsoft 365, and for search advertising and AI assistant users through Bing and its assistants.
Amazon competes with Google for enterprise cloud spending through AWS and for advertisers’ budgets through ads aimed at shoppers ready to buy, overlapping with Google’s search advertising.
Apple competes with Google for device buyers and app spending through iPhone and its app ecosystem, but also receives payments from Google to offer search on Apple platforms. Watch changes to antitrust remedies affecting that search-distribution agreement, alongside competition with Pixel, Android and Google Play.
Google buys chips from NVIDIA for its AI infrastructure and cloud offerings, using NVIDIA’s GPUs alongside its own custom-built TPUs.
Oracle competes with Google Cloud for enterprise customers paying to run applications, databases and AI workloads. Oracle’s news on cloud pricing and its services that work across multiple clouds is worth watching: those services also work with Google Cloud and can let customers move away from Oracle Cloud.
Pinterest competes with Google for retailers’ and brands’ budgets by selling ads that turn product discovery into purchases. Watch its advertising tied to clicks, checkout and add-to-cart actions as a comparison for the purchase-driven ad demand Google serves.
Snap competes with YouTube and Google’s advertising platforms for marketers’ video and brand budgets, as well as ads meant to prompt an immediate response. Its Snapchat advertising results provide a comparison for the direct-response and brand spending that drove YouTube’s advertising growth in 2025.
Baidu offers a comparison for Google’s search advertising and AI changes to search, though their principal geographic markets differ. Baidu charges advertisers when users click sponsored links related to their searches; watch how its AI improvements support that advertising business.
Netflix competes with YouTube and YouTube TV for viewers’ time and video subscription spending, earning most of its revenue from members’ monthly streaming fees. Its membership revenue is a useful comparison for the paid-video demand behind Google’s YouTube subscriptions.
Taboola.com Ltd. competes with Google’s advertising network for advertisers and partner sites, collecting payment for clicks, purchases or views and sharing the proceeds with the site showing the ad. Watch its advertising revenue from partner properties as a comparison for Google Network, whose 2025 decline came primarily from AdSense.
Spotify Technology competes with YouTube Music and Premium for music listeners and their subscription spending, offering paid streaming with music listening without commercial breaks. Watch its Premium subscriber growth as a comparison for the paid YouTube subscriptions helping drive Google’s subscription revenue.
Spotify Technology S.A. earningsSPOT
Spotify’s report will show whether paid music subscriptions are gaining listeners, offering a market signal for the paid YouTube services that contribute to Alphabet’s subscription revenue.
Look at growth in Spotify’s paying Premium subscribers. Strong growth would show that listeners are still paying for music services, a favorable market signal for Alphabet’s paid subscriptions; weak growth would mean less support from that market, but would not tell you how YouTube subscriptions performed.
Alphabet Inc. earningsThis company
Alphabet’s report will show whether growth in Search advertising and Google Cloud is turning into profit that can support expanding infrastructure investment.
Read Search & other revenue alongside Google Cloud revenue and Cloud operating income, then consider them with infrastructure investment and operating cash flow. If search-ad revenue grows and Cloud revenue and operating income strengthen too, both businesses are helping support expansion. If search-ad growth slows, or Cloud revenue rises without a corresponding rise in operating income, investment may be running ahead of the returns those businesses are producing.
Microsoft Corp earningsMSFT
Microsoft’s report will show how enterprise demand for Azure is developing, giving a read on the competition Alphabet faces for Google Cloud spending.
Look at Microsoft’s reported Azure growth. Strong growth would show enterprise cloud demand supporting a direct competitor to Google Cloud, potentially intensifying the contest for customers; weak growth would make that signal less pronounced. Microsoft’s results cannot substitute for Google Cloud’s own revenue and profit figures.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
The Fed’s rate decision signals the direction of borrowing costs, which can affect Alphabet’s cost of future borrowing or refinancing on its $48.5 billion of outstanding notes and the interest it pays.

If it comes in above expectations
If the policy rate is higher than expected, higher economy-wide rates can make future borrowing or refinancing costlier for Alphabet and raise interest payments on any debt whose rate resets.
If it comes in below expectations
If the policy rate is lower than expected, lower economy-wide rates can make future borrowing or refinancing cheaper for Alphabet and reduce interest payments on any debt whose rate resets.
Pinterest, Inc. earningsPINS
Pinterest’s report will show whether brands and retailers are spending on ads tied to clicks and shopping actions, a purchase-focused budget that also competes with Google’s advertising business.
Look at Pinterest’s results for advertising tied to shopping actions. If this business strengthens, brands and retailers are showing willingness to pay for online ads that prompt purchases—a supportive market signal for Google’s performance ads. If it weakens, the signal for that kind of budget is softer, but it does not prove that Google’s ad revenue is falling.
Snap Inc. earningsSNAP
Snap’s report will show how advertisers are spending on video, brand and response-driven ads that compete with YouTube for budgets.
Look at Snap’s advertising revenue and ad-business results. If they strengthen, especially across both brand and response-driven ads, advertisers are continuing to fund online formats that also compete with YouTube; if they weaken, the market signal for those formats is softer, but that does not mean YouTube ad revenue must fall.
Taboola.com Ltd. earningsTBLA
Taboola’s report will show advertiser and partner-site demand for ads on third-party properties, a market comparison for Alphabet’s Google Network.
Look at Taboola’s advertising business on partner properties. Stronger results would show advertisers still placing ads on third-party sites and partner sites still carrying them—a favorable signal for the market around Google Network. Weaker results would echo pressure in that channel, but would not establish how AdSense performed.
Baidu, Inc. earningsBIDU
Baidu’s report will show whether AI changes to search can coexist with a functioning search-ad business, a comparison for Alphabet that comes from a different market.
Read Baidu’s search-ad results alongside its disclosures about AI improvements to search. If the ad business holds up, that suggests AI changes and ad monetization can coexist in Baidu’s market; if it weakens, that link is less evident. The markets differ, so this is a comparison for Google’s search business, not a direct read on it.
Nvidia Corp earningsNVDA
NVIDIA’s report will show demand for the GPUs Alphabet buys for AI and cloud infrastructure, offering a signal about potential supply competition and cost pressure.
Look at NVIDIA’s data-center GPU demand and related business results. Strong demand means more buyers are seeking GPUs, which could tighten supply or raise costs as Alphabet expands AI and cloud infrastructure; weaker demand could ease that competitive pressure. NVIDIA’s sales do not establish how many chips Alphabet receives or what it pays.
Oracle Corp earningsORCL
Oracle’s report will offer clues about cloud pricing and services that span clouds, which can shape how easily enterprise customers move workloads as Alphabet competes for their business.
Watch Oracle’s disclosures on cloud pricing and services that work across multiple clouds. If customers can move workloads more easily, Google Cloud may have a chance to win work that leaves another provider, but customers can also move away more readily; if pricing pressure intensifies, it may narrow room to compete for business. Oracle’s results describe customer options and pricing conditions, not Google Cloud’s own performance.
