Baidu App brings together information, third-party content and services that users typically access for free. Businesses seeking customers bid to place sponsored links in front of people searching for related products or services, and pay Baidu when users click. Baidu also sells feed advertising and distributes ads through Baidu Union partner websites and apps, sharing revenue with those partners. Online marketing supplies most of the group’s revenue.
Cloud services and video memberships are its other main revenue sources. Baidu AI Cloud sells computing infrastructure, platforms and AI applications to enterprises and the public sector, charging through subscriptions, resource usage and tailored solutions. Its controlled subsidiary iQIYI produces, licenses and distributes video content, earning money from viewers who pay for memberships or individual content and from advertisers.
The business operates overwhelmingly in mainland China. Advertising income depends on attracting users and delivering results that justify customers’ spending; advertising customers generally have no long-term commitment. Baidu Union partners supply traffic behind a significant portion of revenue, so retaining those relationships matters. Video memberships depend on keeping content attractive enough for viewers to pay.
Mainland advertising rules require Baidu to verify advertisers and supporting approvals and clearly label paid search listings as ads. Foreign-investment restrictions also mean it runs certain mainland internet businesses through entities controlled by contracts rather than owned directly. Its ability to direct those businesses and receive their economic benefits depends on those arrangements remaining enforceable and accepted by regulators.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Baidu’s results hinge on Chinese advertising budgets and enterprise AI adoption, with Tencent and ByteDance key rivals to watch for user attention, advertising and cloud customers even though neither appears here.
Alibaba competes with Baidu for merchants’ spending on ads that drive clicks and sales, and for enterprises paying for cloud and AI services. Watch advertising demand from its Taobao and Tmall merchants alongside its cloud business for signs of the spending Baidu is competing to win.
iQIYI’s video membership and advertising results flow directly into Baidu’s revenue and earnings because Baidu controls and consolidates it. Its 2025 revenue fell 7% to RMB27.3 billion as a lighter content slate and competition hurt membership revenue, while advertisers also cut spending under macroeconomic pressure.
Weibo and Baidu both depend on businesses paying to reach Chinese mobile users, whether to build awareness, attract potential customers or make sales. Weibo’s advertising and marketing revenue offers a read on these budgets, though it sells social-media exposure rather than Baidu’s search clicks.
Kingsoft Cloud competes with Baidu AI Cloud for enterprises paying for computing capacity, model services and AI solutions. Demand for its Starflow platform, which helps customers train and run models and build agents, is a concrete place to watch the enterprise AI spending both seek.
Alphabet offers a comparison for Baidu’s AI transition: both earn money from advertisers seeking search clicks and from cloud customers, but their core markets differ. Watch Google’s search advertising and cloud results for context on how AI adoption changes these businesses, rather than as a direct gauge of Chinese demand.
Bilibili competes with Baidu’s iQIYI business for video viewers, content and paying advertisers. Its video community for young people in China makes advertising revenue a more focused signal of that rivalry than total revenue, which also includes mobile games and other businesses.
Baidu uses NVIDIA’s chips to accelerate AI computing, so chip availability and export restrictions matter to its model development and cloud capacity.
Microsoft’s success in turning enterprise AI use into revenue offers context for Baidu: both sell cloud and AI services to businesses, despite different geographic exposures. Watch Microsoft’s cloud-based AI revenue as a comparison for the enterprise adoption that helped offset Baidu’s advertising decline in 2025.
Trip.com’s share value matters to Baidu as an investment and a financing exposure: Baidu owns shares in the travel-booking company and issued US$2 billion of bonds due in 2032 that reference them. Under specified conditions, Baidu can settle exchanges with cash, its Trip.com shares or both, so watch the share price rather than treating travel bookings as Baidu revenue.

Google’s report will show how search advertising and cloud are faring in the AI shift, offering context for Baidu’s ad monetization and AI Cloud transition, but not a direct read on Chinese demand.
Look at Google’s search advertising revenue alongside its cloud results. Steady search ads with cloud growth would show AI use can coexist with established ad and cloud income. Weaker search ads would underline the risk that direct AI answers reduce monetizable clicks—a risk Baidu also faces, though the companies serve different markets.
Bilibili Inc. earningsBILI
Bilibili’s advertising revenue will show how video platforms are attracting advertiser budgets, offering context for Baidu-owned iQIYI’s ad sales.
Focus on Bilibili’s advertising revenue, not total revenue, which also includes mobile games and other businesses. Growing ad revenue would suggest advertisers are still paying for exposure on video platforms, a constructive signal for iQIYI’s ad sales. Weakness would point to a harder fight for budgets, though Bilibili’s young audience differs from iQIYI’s.
Baidu, Inc. earningsThis company
Baidu’s report will show whether search and feed advertising revenue is stabilizing and whether growth in AI Cloud is offsetting weaker ads.
Read online marketing revenue alongside AI Cloud revenue. Stabilizing ads with continued cloud growth would show enterprise AI demand is helping fill the gap left by advertising. If ads keep falling even as cloud grows, Baidu’s main revenue engine is still contracting and the AI transition has not yet reversed the pressure on the business overall.
Kingsoft Cloud Holdings Limited earningsKC
Kingsoft Cloud’s report will show whether enterprise customers are paying for model training, inference and AI solutions—the same kind of spending Baidu AI Cloud seeks.
Look for whether Kingsoft Cloud’s AI-related demand translates into cloud revenue and paid usage. Stronger demand and revenue would suggest enterprises are turning AI investment into cloud spending, giving Baidu’s cloud growth a broader market base. If growth is weak, enterprise AI demand may not be enough to support cloud expansion and infrastructure investment.
