Nature’s Sunshine Products sells nutritional supplements and personal care products under the Nature’s Sunshine Products and Synergy WorldWide brands. Independent consultants buy products from the company for their own use or to resell to consumers. The company makes most of its products at its Spanish Fork, Utah facility and uses contract manufacturers for some others.
The company supports consultants with training and pays incentives based on their own product sales and those of their sales organizations. In China, it pays independent service fees instead. Revenue depends primarily on how many consultants remain active and how much they sell; consultant turnover is high. In some markets, a few consultants and their extensive sales networks generate a significant share of revenue.
Direct-selling rules require compensation to be based primarily on genuine product sales rather than recruitment, and South Korea and China limit consultant compensation. Product-marketing rules also constrain the business: in the United States, the products are principally sold as dietary supplements and cosmetics, with restrictions on claims that they treat or cure disease.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
USANA Health Sciences and Nature’s Sunshine compete for consumers buying nutritional supplements and independent sellers who buy for themselves or resell to others. Watch USANA’s core nutritional active customer count—buyers in the latest three months—for a read on demand in this shared market.
LifeVantage Corporation competes with Nature’s Sunshine for supplement customers and independent consultants, selling to both across general health, digestive health, weight management and personal care. Its P84 gut-health system and MindBody GLP-1 System are concrete products to watch in categories where the two overlap.
Herbalife and Nature’s Sunshine compete worldwide in nutrition and weight-management products, selling through independent networks to people who buy for personal use or resale. Watch Herbalife’s weight-management sales, including meal replacements and protein shakes: this category accounted for 54.5% of its net sales in 2025.
Mannatech competes directly with Nature’s Sunshine to recruit and retain independent sellers, while selling overlapping nutritional and personal-care products to associates and preferred customers. Its success in attracting sellers matters because recruitment by competing networks reduces the pool available to Nature’s Sunshine.
Nu Skin Enterprises competes with Nature’s Sunshine for consumers buying wellness and personal-care products through person-to-person selling networks. Watch Nu Skin’s beauty and wellness product revenue rather than its external Rhyz revenue, which includes manufacturing businesses and is less directly tied to this rivalry.

Herbalife’s report will show whether customers are still buying meal replacements and protein shakes, a weight-management market it shares with Nature’s Sunshine.
Compare Herbalife’s weight-management sales with its overall sales. If the category holds up or grows, customers are still buying these products, but Herbalife is also gaining sales momentum in a market where Nature’s Sunshine competes. If the category trails Herbalife’s broader business, demand for these products may be softer and category pressure on Nature’s Sunshine may ease; that alone would not show that Nature’s Sunshine sales are falling.

Nature’s Sunshine’s report will show whether its consultants are driving product-sales growth without product and selling costs taking a larger bite out of revenue.
Read net sales alongside gross margin and selling, general and administrative expenses as a share of sales; if the company also presents sales excluding currency effects, compare those too, since translating overseas sales into dollars can change the reported growth. Rising sales with a steady gross margin and selling costs that do not grow faster would suggest consultant-driven demand is translating into profit. Weak sales, or growth alongside a falling gross margin and a rising expense share, would point to softer demand or less profit left from each dollar sold.
