McCormick & Company supplies the spices, seasonings and sauces people use in cooking and eating. Its Consumer business brings in most of its revenue, selling products under brands such as McCormick, French’s and Frank’s RedHot through retailers and online channels. Retailers buy the products for resale to consumers; Walmart is a major customer.
The other substantial business, Flavor Solutions, develops and supplies seasoning blends and other flavor ingredients that food and beverage manufacturers put into their products and foodservice businesses use in menu items. These customers buy directly or through distributors. PepsiCo is a major customer, and this business relies on a small group of large buyers for much of its sales.
The business depends on consumers continuing to choose its brands and on access to agricultural ingredients such as pepper, garlic and herbs. When ingredient costs rise, McCormick uses purchasing arrangements, cost savings and price increases, but higher prices can reduce demand. Food-safety, ingredient and labeling rules also govern how it makes and sells its products.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Walmart, missing from this list, is also worth watching: its purchases accounted for approximately 12% of McCormick’s consolidated sales in each of 2025, 2024 and 2023.
Kraft Heinz competes for condiment and sauce shoppers with McCormick: its Heinz products directly rival French’s and McCormick’s other condiment brands.
McCormick depends on PepsiCo’s purchases of flavor ingredients: this Flavor Solutions customer accounted for approximately 12% of McCormick’s consolidated sales in 2025. PepsiCo’s sales of convenient foods to retailers and distributors are worth watching for clues to demand from this major customer.
Campbell’s competes with McCormick for shoppers buying sauces and products to flavor meals. Its Pace, Prego, Rao’s and dinner sauces are the products to watch for competition with McCormick’s retail sauces and seasonings.
Conagra competes with McCormick for grocery shoppers buying sauces and mustard: Hunt’s sauces rival McCormick’s sauces, while Gulden’s mustard competes with French’s.
General Mills and McCormick face overlapping demand and pricing pressures from shoppers preparing meals at home, through meal kits and ingredients versus cooking seasonings and sauces. Watch whether General Mills can raise prices on these meal products without losing demand as ingredient costs rise—the same trade-off matters for McCormick.
McCormick buys custom containers from Silgan Holdings, which lists McCormick among that business’s largest customers. Silgan’s custom-container sales are the relevant line to watch for this packaging relationship, rather than its closures or metal-container businesses.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
For McCormick, the Fed’s decision on the cost of borrowing can change what it pays on variable-rate debt and commercial paper used to fund operations and working capital, affecting earnings.

If it comes in above expectations
If rates rise more than expected, interest on McCormick’s variable-rate debt and new or refinanced commercial paper may increase, leaving less earnings after interest costs.
If it comes in below expectations
If rates rise less than expected or fall, interest costs on McCormick’s variable-rate debt and new or refinanced commercial paper may be lower, leaving more earnings after interest costs.
Silgan Holdings Inc earningsSLGN
Silgan Holdings’ report will show whether the custom containers it supplies to McCormick are part of a healthy packaging business.
Focus on Silgan’s custom-container business, not its metal-container or closures businesses. Strong custom-container sales would show that this packaging line is holding up; weakness could signal softer demand or strain in a supply relationship relevant to McCormick, though Silgan’s results alone cannot establish the cause.
The Kraft Heinz Company earningsKHC
Kraft Heinz’s report will show whether shoppers are still buying its condiments and sauces, which compete with McCormick’s French’s and other retail brands.
Watch Kraft Heinz’s condiment and sauce sales. Resilient sales would suggest shoppers are still buying products in the category, supporting the demand backdrop for McCormick’s retail sauces; weakness could point to softer category demand or tougher shelf competition, but would not establish how McCormick itself sold.
General Mills, Inc. earningsGIS
General Mills’ report will show whether it can raise prices on at-home meal products without losing demand, a trade-off McCormick also faces with seasonings and sauces.
Read General Mills’ pricing alongside sales volume. If demand holds after price increases, shoppers appear willing to pay more for at-home meal products, suggesting McCormick may have room to pass costs on to seasoning and sauce buyers. If volume weakens as prices rise, shoppers are showing price sensitivity, and McCormick faces a harder choice between recovering costs and retaining sales.
