Company

Company overview

CECO Environmental Corp. helps industrial facilities remove pollutants from air and water and improve energy and process efficiency. Customers such as power generators, natural-gas processors, refineries and manufacturers pay it for equipment and projects tailored to their plants. Engineered Systems supplies most of its revenue, serving energy, water-treatment and marine applications. Industrial Process Solutions supplies contamination-control, exhaust-treatment and fluid-handling equipment to manufacturers.

CECO can take a project from engineering and procurement through fabrication and installation, combining its own technologies with outside suppliers’ equipment. It generally bills customers at agreed project milestones or when equipment ships. Installed equipment also brings repeat maintenance, service and modification work. No single customer dominates revenue.

Demand depends largely on customers’ capital spending, clean-air rules and plant upgrades required by environmental and health laws. Most projects have fixed prices, so earnings depend on estimating costs accurately and delivering the work within budget.

  • Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises, Inc. competes with Ceco Environmental Corp for power generators’ and industrial plants’ spending on emissions-control systems and related services. Its news about emissions-control projects is the part most relevant to CECO, rather than its broader boiler business.

  • Fuel Tech, Inc. competes with Ceco Environmental Corp to sell utilities and industrial operators systems that reduce nitrogen-oxide emissions from combustion equipment, known as SCR and SNCR. Watch its business supplying those systems and related services, where the two companies pursue the same customers.

  • Donaldson Company, Inc. competes with Ceco Environmental Corp for filtration spending by manufacturing, power-generation and food-and-beverage customers. Its industrial and food-and-beverage filtration results are more relevant to CECO than its Mobile Solutions business, which supplied 62.3% of Donaldson’s fiscal 2026 net sales.

  • Madison Air Solutions Corporation overlaps with Ceco Environmental Corp in selling air-filtration and ventilation solutions to commercial industrial customers; this is where it competes with CECO’s industrial-air and contamination-control offerings.

  • GE Vernova Inc. and Ceco Environmental Corp both serve power-plant expansion and modernization: GE Vernova supplies and services generating equipment, while CECO sells plants emissions-management, separation and thermal-acoustic systems. GE Vernova’s Power equipment and modernization business is the part to watch for spending in this shared customer market.
