BayCom Corp is a bank holding company whose wholly owned United Business Bank serves small and medium-sized businesses, business owners and individuals. The bank uses customer deposits to fund loans, mostly secured by commercial real estate, including multifamily properties. It also finances business working capital and equipment. Borrowers pay interest, and the bank’s main earnings come from what it collects on loans and investments less its funding costs and credit losses.
California accounts for most loans and deposits. With commercial property lending dominating the loan book, repayment depends heavily on borrowers’ business income and property cash flows, including rents. Labor unions supply a substantial share of deposits, making retention of that funding important. Earnings also depend on how loan and investment yields move relative to deposit costs.
BayCom itself mainly holds and monitors its investment in the bank. Much of the parent company’s cash comes from bank dividends, which federal and state laws and regulations limit.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Bank of Marin Bancorp, through Bank of Marin, competes with BayCom’s United Business Bank for business deposits and commercial property and business loans in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. Watch its business deposits and lending for signs of competition for the same local customers.
PCB Bancorp’s PCB Bank competes with BayCom’s United Business Bank for small-business loans and deposits in Southern California. Its loan and deposit rates are worth watching for competition for those customers, particularly around its Los Angeles and Orange County branches.
Community West Bancshares, through Community West Bank, competes with BayCom’s United Business Bank for California customers seeking commercial property loans, business banking and deposit accounts.
Sierra Bancorp’s Bank of the Sierra competes with BayCom’s United Business Bank for loans and deposits in California; both banks have substantial exposure to loans backed by real estate.
RBB Bancorp’s Royal Business Bank competes with BayCom’s United Business Bank for small and middle-market business loans and banking relationships in California and Nevada. RBB earns most of its revenue from loan interest, making its lending to those businesses the business to watch.
BayCom Corp earningsThis company
BayCom relies mainly on interest earned from loans and securities after deposit costs, and this report will show whether that income still covers its funding costs and loan risk.
Read net interest margin—the income from interest-earning assets after interest paid on funding—alongside the provision for credit losses. A steady margin with no marked rise in provisions would show that interest income is still covering funding costs without a clear increase in expected loan losses. A narrowing margin with rising provisions would point to funding pressure and/or borrower risk eating into BayCom’s earnings engine.
PCB Bancorp earningsPCB
PCB Bancorp’s report will show how it prices small-business loans and deposits in Southern California, where it competes with BayCom for customers.
Read PCB Bancorp’s deposit costs and balances alongside its loan rates and lending activity. If it retains deposits and keeps lending active while offering more attractive rates, BayCom may need to compete harder in Southern California, putting pressure on deposit costs or loan yields. If PCB Bancorp’s deposits or lending weaken, its pull with these customers may be fading, but that alone would not show that they moved to BayCom.
Bank of Marin Bancorp earningsBMRC
Bank of Marin Bancorp’s report will show how its business deposits and lending are faring in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California, where it competes with BayCom for customers.
Read changes in Bank of Marin Bancorp’s business deposits alongside its lending activity. Growth in both would show that it is still attracting business customers in the Bay Area and Northern California, making it an active local competitor for BayCom. Weakness in both would show less momentum, but could also reflect softer local demand; this report alone cannot establish that customers shifted to BayCom.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
BayCom’s United Business Bank earns the spread between interest on its loans and securities and what it pays depositors, so Fed rate decisions affect how those income and funding costs move.

If it comes in above expectations
If rates rise more than expected, interest on BayCom’s adjustable-rate loans may increase, but if deposit costs rise faster, the bank’s net interest income—the interest it earns less what it pays—may shrink.
If it comes in below expectations
If rates fall more than expected, interest on BayCom’s floating-rate loans may reset lower faster than its deposit costs, reducing the income left after paying depositors.
