Arqit Quantum Inc. helps organizations protect data and communications against cyberattacks, including threats from quantum computing. Its main revenue-generating product, SKA-Platform, creates and manages encryption keys through software installed at network endpoints. Customers use those keys to secure communications, while developers can incorporate its authentication and encryption functions into their applications.
IT vendors and service providers typically pay Arqit for a license, integrate its software into their offerings, and sell those offerings to end customers. Arqit also sells directly in selected cases. Subscription licenses give customers access for a limited period; the company aims to build recurring revenue through partner sales as customer usage grows.
Commercial operations remain limited, and revenue is heavily concentrated in one customer. Expansion depends on partners bringing in customers and securing renewals, and Arqit still needs additional capital to develop and commercialize its products. Export controls and sanctions restrict where and to whom it can supply its encryption technology, and some overseas sales require government authorization.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Arqit's results hinge on turning quantum-safe encryption adoption into channel-partner contracts, with private specialists PQShield and ISARA also worth watching as competitors.
BTQ Technologies Corp. and Arqit both stand to benefit from adoption of quantum-resistant encryption, but BTQ develops chips while Arqit sells customers software to assess encryption weaknesses and protect networks. Watch BTQ's QCIM chip deployment in smart cards and connected devices for signs of adoption on the hardware side rather than demand for Arqit's software.
SEALSQ Corp offers device makers a hardware-based alternative to Arqit's software for verifying devices and protecting communications, selling secure chips and identity certificates where Arqit says its software can eliminate certificates. SEALSQ's secure-chip sales are the clearest line to watch: they accounted for 78% of its 2025 revenue.
Quantum eMotion Corp. and Arqit both need customers to pay for stronger cryptographic protection: Quantum eMotion commercializes quantum-generated randomness for cybersecurity, while Arqit sells software that creates symmetric encryption keys for secure communications. Watch Quantum eMotion's royalties from partner sales, which produced its first revenue in fiscal 2025, as a sign of paid adoption rather than a direct measure of Arqit's sales.
International Business Machines Corporation competes with Arqit for enterprise spending on finding encryption vulnerable to quantum attacks and planning its replacement. IBM's quantum-safe discovery and migration services overlap with Arqit's Encryption Intelligence assessment and planning work.
Fortinet competes for the enterprise network-security spending Arqit targets with NetworkSecure, but its equipment can also run VPNs that Arqit's software strengthens. Fortinet sells secure networking and VPN protection, so its equipment is both a competing security offering and a place where NetworkSecure can be used.

IBM's report will show whether enterprises are spending on quantum-safe risk assessments and migration planning, the same budget Arqit's Encryption Intelligence targets.
Focus on IBM's comments about demand for quantum-safe discovery and migration planning, not its overall results as a proxy for Arqit's sales. Stronger demand would suggest enterprises are funding work to find encryption vulnerable to quantum attacks and plan replacements, potentially widening Arqit's addressable demand; weaker demand would point to limited or slow-moving budgets.

Arqit's report will show whether SKA-Platform services sold through channel partners are reaching more customers and generating recurring revenue, rather than relying on a few contracts.
Look at how many customers generate SKA-Platform revenue and whether it is recognized over subscription periods or at delivery. More customers and more revenue recognized over time would show partner sales building repeatable demand; continued concentration in one customer or reliance on point-in-time recognition would show commercialization remains uneven.
