Company

Company overview

Acrivon Therapeutics seeks to match cancer patients with drugs most likely to work for them. Its proprietary AP3 platform measures how drugs change protein activity in cells and tumors, while its OncoSignature tests examine tumor samples to identify likely responders. This approach guides both drug development and patient selection for clinical trials, rather than relying only on genetic changes.

The business centers on two clinical-stage candidates: ACR-368, licensed from Lilly, and ACR-2316, developed internally. Acrivon has no approved products and has never generated revenue. It has funded operations mainly by raising capital from investors and needs additional funding to continue development. Potential future collaboration partners could pay licensing fees, milestone payments and research reimbursements; these are not established revenue streams. Its Lilly license requires milestone payments and royalties if specified development and sales conditions are met.

Future drug sales depend heavily on these candidates succeeding in trials and obtaining regulatory approval, and on the tests correctly identifying patients who respond. OncoSignature has not received regulatory approval. Where a drug needs a companion test for safe and effective use, FDA approval generally also requires the test to be approved or cleared.

  • Zentalis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. competes with Acrivon's ACR-2316 through azenosertib, an investigational cancer drug that blocks WEE1. Azenosertib's efficacy and safety results, including in platinum-resistant ovarian cancer, matter to the treatment competition Acrivon faces.

  • Aprea Therapeutics, Inc.'s APR-1051 competes with Acrivon's ACR-2316 as an investigational treatment for cancers that depend on WEE1. Aprea is developing APR-1051 as an oral drug, making its clinical progress a concrete program to watch alongside ACR-2316.

  • Schrodinger, Inc.'s SGR-3515 competes directly with Acrivon's ACR-2316: both are clinical-stage drugs that block WEE1 and PKMYT1 to treat solid tumors. Watch SGR-3515's clinical progress rather than software sales to drugmakers, industrial companies and research institutions, which also form a substantial part of Schrodinger's business.

  • Eli Lilly & Co. supplies the intellectual-property rights behind Acrivon's lead program ACR-368; in return, Acrivon may owe up to $168 million in development and commercial milestones plus royalties on sales. Lilly released its rights of first negotiation over reacquiring the program in July 2025, leaving Acrivon free to negotiate global or territorial partnerships and sublicenses.

    Fed Interest Rate Decision

Acrivon Therapeutics earns interest on cash and investments that helps offset the costs of developing ACR-368 and its other cancer drugs, so the Fed’s rate decision matters through income on funds it reinvests.
