Zhengye Biotechnology Holding Limited supplies vaccines that livestock producers use to prevent animal diseases. Its Chinese operating business sells to breeders directly and to distributors that resell locally, with a smaller business supplying government vaccine procurement. Distributors generate slightly more revenue than direct sales and pay before delivery. Almost all sales are in China, and pig vaccines provide most of the revenue; poultry and other animal vaccines make up the remainder.
The business depends heavily on demand from pig producers, whose vaccine purchases are affected by hog prices and herd sizes. Muyuan Foods remains an important customer, although it no longer supplies the dominant share of revenue it once did.
The company develops vaccine technology itself and obtains technology through research partnerships and licenses. It must maintain Chinese manufacturing permits and meet production and quality standards, while new products need regulatory approval before commercialization.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Zhengye’s results hinge chiefly on Chinese hog producers’ vaccine spending and competition from domestic vaccine makers such as Jinyu Bio-Technology and Wuhan Keqian Biology, neither shown here.
Zoetis overlaps with Zhengye in selling livestock vaccines, including swine and poultry vaccines, to animal producers. Its livestock vaccine business is the relevant comparison for Zhengye, rather than its broader pet medicines and diagnostics portfolio.
Phibro Animal Health Corporation competes in Zhengye’s line of business: both manufacture and sell vaccines that livestock producers use to prevent animal disease. Phibro’s Animal Health sales are the closer comparison, but also include antibacterials and nutritional products, so they are not a vaccine-only measure.

Phibro Animal Health's report will show how livestock producers are buying its animal-health products, offering a read on the vaccine market Zhengye serves.
Separate Phibro's Animal Health sales from its vaccine sales: the broader business also includes antibacterials and nutritional products, so it is not a vaccine-only measure. Growth in both would suggest broad demand for disease-prevention products; broader growth with weaker vaccine sales would mean other products are carrying the business, not that demand for Zhengye's vaccines is improving.
