Company

Company overview

Warby Parker serves people who need vision correction or sunglasses. Customers buy its in-house designs through stores, its website and mobile apps, and can pay for different lens types and enhancements. Glasses generate most of its revenue; contact lenses and eye care are smaller businesses. It offers in-person eye exams and eligible prescription renewals through Virtual Vision Test. Most revenue comes from consumers paying directly, rather than vision-plan reimbursement.

Stores bring in a significant share of sales, and expanding the store network is central to attracting new customers. Fulfilling glasses orders depends on outside component suppliers and manufacturers, together with company-owned and third-party optical laboratories that cut lenses and fit them into frames. A single supplier provides a large share of the cellulose acetate used in many frames, usually without long-term supply commitments.

Providing eye care also depends on licensed professionals. State laws can restrict Warby Parker from directly providing or controlling professional care or sharing professional fees, so it uses contractual arrangements with optometrists and professional entities in many stores and for Virtual Vision Test.

Warby Parker’s results depend chiefly on optical retail demand and store expansion against EssilorLuxottica and VSP, while Google and Samsung support its planned move into intelligent eyewear.

  • National Vision competes with Warby Parker for U.S. customers buying affordable prescription glasses, contact lenses and eye exams in optical stores. Watch its America’s Best business for demand among value-conscious eye-care customers.

  • Google’s smart-glasses product news matters to Warby Parker because the two have a long-term partnership to develop AI-powered eyewear for all-day use. Google earns mainly from advertisers, but this joint development is the part to watch for Warby Parker’s expansion beyond traditional glasses.

  • Cooper Companies shares Warby Parker’s exposure to contact-lens demand: its CooperVision business makes lenses, while Warby Parker sells them to customers alongside glasses and eye exams. Watch CooperVision’s contact-lens sales rather than Cooper’s fertility and women’s-health business; contacts accounted for 11.1% of Warby Parker’s 2025 net revenue.

  • Bausch + Lomb’s contact-lens business tracks demand relevant to Warby Parker, which sells contacts to consumers as a growing part of its eye-care offering. Watch contact-lens sales within Bausch + Lomb’s Vision Care business, rather than its medicines or surgical products, for a read on this contributor to Warby Parker’s revenue per customer.

  • Alcon and Warby Parker both earn revenue from contact-lens purchases, linking Alcon’s Vision Care business to one source of Warby Parker’s growth. Watch Alcon’s contact-lens sales specifically: its Vision Care revenue also includes ocular health products, while Warby Parker often sells contacts together with glasses.
