Bausch + Lomb supplies products for everyday eye care, vision correction, treatment of eye conditions and eye surgery. Vision Care brings in most of its revenue, with consumer eye-care products contributing more than contact lenses. These include Lumify and PreserVision, alongside contact lenses such as Bausch + Lomb Ultra. Prescription medicines, including MIEBO and XIIDRA, form its next-largest business. It also sells equipment, artificial lenses implanted during eye surgery, and surgical supplies.
The company sells through its own sales force and independent distributors to customers including healthcare providers, wholesalers and retailers. McKesson and Cardinal Health are each substantial customers, so their purchasing matters to revenue. Physician recommendations and repeat consumer purchases also support demand. Some products, including Lumify, MIEBO and XIIDRA, depend on a single source of finished-product supply.
New medicines and medical devices require regulatory approval before they can be marketed, and continued sales depend on meeting product and manufacturing standards. Bausch + Lomb’s separation from BHC remains incomplete. BHC retains control and approval rights over certain significant company actions, while separation-related tax covenants can restrict strategic transactions.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Alcon competes with Bausch + Lomb for contact-lens and eye-care customers and for surgeons buying equipment, consumables and implants. Its separate Vision Care and Surgical sales show how demand is developing across both of Bausch + Lomb’s main device businesses.
Bausch Health owns approximately 88% of Bausch + Lomb and includes its eye-health sales in consolidated results, so Bausch + Lomb’s performance feeds directly into its parent’s accounts. Watch the parent’s Bausch + Lomb segment, rather than its total revenue, which also includes other medicines and aesthetic devices.
Cooper Companies’ CooperVision competes with Bausch + Lomb for eye-care practitioners and patients buying spherical, toric and multifocal contact lenses. CooperVision’s contact-lens results are the relevant comparison, not CooperSurgical’s fertility and women’s-health business.
Johnson & Johnson competes with Bausch + Lomb for contact-lens buyers and surgeons choosing cataract implants and equipment. News about those eye-care products is more relevant to Bausch + Lomb than Johnson & Johnson’s prescription-medicine business.
AbbVie’s Allergan eye-care products compete with Bausch + Lomb’s medicines for patients needing dry-eye treatment, glaucoma medicines and therapies for eye inflammation.
Prestige Consumer Healthcare Inc.’s Clear Eyes and other over-the-counter eye-care products compete on retail shelves with Bausch + Lomb’s consumer eye drops for shoppers’ purchases.
RxSight competes with Bausch + Lomb’s premium cataract lenses by selling surgeons implants that can be adjusted with light after surgery, along with the equipment that makes those adjustments. Watch its lens sales and procedure volume: premium lenses helped drive Bausch + Lomb’s implant sales growth in 2025.
LENSAR sells its ALLY cataract laser to surgery centers, hospitals and physicians, competing with Bausch + Lomb’s cataract lasers. Watch ALLY sales alongside Bausch + Lomb’s planned SeeLyra launch, which it said in November 2025 it expected in the second half of 2026.
Glaukos’s glaucoma implants and therapies that deliver medicine compete with Bausch + Lomb’s glaucoma medicines to treat the same patients. Watch sales of its iStent family, iDose TR and related glaucoma accessories, which together accounted for approximately 83% of Glaukos’s 2025 net sales.

Bausch + Lomb’s report will show whether sales growth in contact lenses, eye medicines and surgical products can offset pricing pressure and strengthen operating performance.
Compare sales growth across the three segments with each segment’s profit margin, and watch for changes in realized pricing and sales deductions. Volume-led growth with stable margins means sales are adding operating contribution; if pricing or deductions squeeze margins, revenue growth is not translating into comparable profitability.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
The Fed’s rate decision signals how borrowing costs may change; higher rates can raise Bausch + Lomb’s interest costs on its variable-rate debt and reduce earnings.

If it comes in above expectations
If the decision points to rates higher than expected, interest costs on Bausch + Lomb’s variable-rate debt may rise, leaving less earnings after interest.
If it comes in below expectations
If the decision points to rates lower than expected, interest costs on Bausch + Lomb’s variable-rate debt may ease, leaving more earnings after interest.
ABBVIE INC. earningsABBV
AbbVie’s report will show demand for its dry-eye, glaucoma and eye-inflammation products, which compete with Bausch + Lomb’s prescription treatments for patients.
Look at sales of AbbVie’s eye-care products, especially in treatments that overlap with Bausch + Lomb’s. Steady sales would show continued demand in those treatment markets, alongside continued competition; weaker sales could point to softer demand in the shared areas, but would not establish that Bausch + Lomb’s sales moved the same way.
Prestige Consumer Healthcare Inc. earningsPBH
Prestige Consumer Healthcare’s report will show how shoppers are buying over-the-counter eye drops in the retail channel where its products compete with Bausch + Lomb’s.
Watch sales of Clear Eyes and Prestige’s other over-the-counter eye-care products. Steady sales would suggest demand remains firm on retail shelves, a supportive signal for Bausch + Lomb’s consumer eye-care products; weaker sales would point to pressure in the shared retail category, but would not by itself establish a change in Bausch + Lomb’s sales.
Alcon Inc. earningsALC
Alcon’s report will show whether demand holds up in both contact lenses and surgical products, two markets it shares with Bausch + Lomb.
Compare sales in Alcon’s Vision Care and Surgical businesses. Strength in both suggests demand is holding across the contact-lens and eye-surgery markets, supporting the market backdrop for Bausch + Lomb’s corresponding businesses; weakness in one points to pressure in that shared area, not necessarily across eye care as a whole.
