NCR Voyix Corporation helps retailers and restaurants take orders, handle checkout and payments, and manage store operations. Its offerings include Voyix POS and Aloha Next by Voyix, connected with applications on the Voyix Commerce Platform. Customers pay for software subscriptions and licenses, payment processing, installation, maintenance and support, as well as hardware. Software and services bring in most revenue, and recurring contracts account for the majority of revenue. Retail is the larger business; one retail customer supplies a significant share of company revenue.
The company is moving customers from older software to cloud-based subscription applications. It has also begun transferring its checkout hardware business to Ennoconn. Under that arrangement, Ennoconn will design, manufacture and ship the hardware directly to customers, while NCR Voyix will sell it for commissions and continue providing software and key support services. The transition would make Ennoconn the sole supplier of substantially all its hardware.
The shift toward subscriptions depends on customers adopting the platform and using more of its applications and integrated payments, supported by connections to third-party systems. Voyix Connect provides a payment gateway, and Voyix Pay provides payment processing. These payments offerings require bank sponsorship and, for certain card transactions, registration with the relevant card brands; losing those arrangements could restrict the services NCR Voyix can offer.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
NCR Voyix's results hinge on retailers and restaurants adopting its software and payments, while Ennoconn is becoming its sole supply partner for substantially all point-of-sale and self-checkout hardware.
PAR Technology competes with NCR Voyix for restaurants' and retailers' spending on checkout software, loyalty and ordering tools, payment processing and support. Watch PAR's subscription software business for evidence of demand for the restaurant and retail tools NCR Voyix also sells.
Diebold Nixdorf competes with NCR Voyix for retailers buying checkout technology, software and related services. Its Retail segment, rather than its Banking segment, is the business to watch for competition facing NCR Voyix.
Lightspeed Commerce competes with NCR Voyix to sell retailers and restaurants cloud-based checkout software, tools for running stores and online channels, and integrated payments. Its software subscription and payments revenue shows demand for the same combination NCR Voyix is selling, with Lightspeed focused particularly on North American retail and European hospitality customers.
Global Payments competes with NCR Voyix by selling restaurants and retailers checkout software alongside services that accept and process customer payments. Watch its rollout of the Genius brand across its checkout software businesses for competition to NCR Voyix's commerce platform and payment services.
Fiserv competes with NCR Voyix for retail and restaurant customers through Clover checkout systems and services that process merchants' payments, rivaling NCR Voyix's integrated commerce and payment offerings.
Diebold Nixdorf, Incorporated earningsDBD
Diebold Nixdorf’s Retail report will show whether retailers are still spending on checkout technology and services in the market where it competes with NCR Voyix.
Look at Diebold Nixdorf’s Retail revenue and signs of orders. Steady results would show retailers are still spending on checkout systems and services, leaving NCR Voyix’s Retail business in an active but competitive market; weaker results would point to tighter spending that could make projects harder for NCR Voyix to win.
NCR Voyix Corporation earningsThis company
NCR Voyix’s report will show whether retailers and restaurants keep buying its software and payment services as hardware and other sales decline.
Read recurring revenue alongside Retail and Restaurants revenue. Recurring revenue growth with both businesses holding steady would show subscription, maintenance and payment-processing income expanding without an evident loss of customers; recurring growth while segment revenue keeps falling would mean the revenue mix is improving but legacy products or customer-related sales are still retreating.
Retail Sales MoM (Oct)
NCR Voyix’s retail and restaurant customers depend on consumer purchases, so retail sales track spending that can raise or lower the transaction volumes generating its payment-processing revenue.
Read stronger sales as support for spending at NCR Voyix’s retail and restaurant customers, which may lift payment volumes and processing revenue; weaker sales may reduce both.
