Vicor Corp supplies components that convert electrical power into the form equipment needs. Equipment makers use its modules individually or combine them into power systems. Customers buy directly, through contract manufacturers or through distributors; Vicor also earns royalties from customers that license its technology.
Advanced Products generate most revenue and are used mainly in data centers and large cloud-computing operators’ infrastructure, delivering power to server motherboards, racks and high-performance processors, including those used for AI. Its established Brick Products combine several conversion stages in one unit and serve customers mainly in aerospace and defense, industrial equipment and transportation.
Most Advanced Products revenue comes from a small number of customers, so their orders and adoption of Vicor’s technology have a large influence on the business. Production also depends on a limited group of semiconductor foundries and packaging and testing providers. Vicor classifies its products as EAR99 commodities that do not require export licenses, but trade restrictions and sanctions can still limit sales to particular countries or customers.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Advanced Energy and Vicor compete to sell equipment makers products that convert electricity for data-center computing and industrial equipment, tying both to demand for efficient, compact power supplies. Watch Advanced Energy’s data-center computing sales for a read on demand in Vicor’s main Advanced Products market.
Flex competes with Vicor in power products for cloud and data-center customers, supplying rack- and board-level systems where Vicor supplies power-conversion components. Watch Flex’s rack- and board-level power business rather than its broader manufacturing revenue for the closest view of this overlap.
Vertiv and Vicor both serve data-center spending, but at different levels: Vertiv sells power and cooling infrastructure, while Vicor sells components that convert power for servers, racks and data-center infrastructure. Vertiv’s data-center power and cooling business offers a view of the infrastructure demand surrounding Vicor’s computing customers.
Espey Mfg. & Electronics Corp competes with Vicor’s established Brick Products by selling power supplies and converters for military, aerospace and rail equipment. Its power-supply sales fell in fiscal 2026 even as magnetics programs and field-service work drove growth, making power supplies the more relevant line to watch for Vicor.
Corning and Vicor serve different parts of data-center infrastructure: Corning supplies optical fiber and connectivity, while Vicor supplies the power-delivery components for computing hardware.

Vicor’s report will show whether data-center demand is still driving its Advanced Products growth and whether that growth is improving product margins.
Compare revenue growth in Advanced Products with Brick Products, then check gross margin and what drove any change. Continued Advanced Products growth, stabilizing Brick Products, and margin improvement from sales mix or production efficiency would show demand translating into stronger product economics. If Advanced Products slow while Brick Products keep falling, or margin improvement relies mainly on licensing revenue or one-off items, growth remains narrow and higher reported profit would not mean the core products broadly strengthened.
Durable Goods Orders MoM (Sep)
For Vicor, orders for long-lasting equipment track demand from aerospace and defense, industrial, instrumentation and rail customers that buy its power components and systems, which can change revenue.
Expected0.2%Last release-0.1%
If it comes in above expectations
If the reading is above the 0.2% estimate, it is above the previous -0.1%. Stronger-than-expected orders would point to firmer equipment demand, potentially prompting those customers to buy more from Vicor and lifting sales; the effect depends on whether their orders reach Vicor.
If it comes in below expectations
Weaker-than-expected orders would point to softer equipment demand, potentially leading those customers to cut purchases from Vicor and reducing sales; the effect depends on whether their orders reach Vicor.
Advanced Energy Industries Inc earningsAEIS
Advanced Energy’s data-center computing sales will show whether equipment makers’ demand for power-conversion products is also supporting Vicor’s Advanced Products market.
Watch Advanced Energy’s data-center computing sales. Stronger sales would indicate firmer equipment-maker demand for data-center power-conversion products, supporting the market for Vicor’s Advanced Products; weaker sales would point to possible softness in that demand, but would not establish Vicor’s own sales.
Espey Mfg. & Electronics Corp earningsESP
Espey’s power-supply sales will show whether demand in military, aerospace, and rail equipment markets is also supporting Vicor’s Brick Products.
Focus on Espey’s power-supply sales, not its magnetics or field-service business. A recovery would indicate stronger demand from military, aerospace, and rail-equipment customers for these products, lending support to the markets for Vicor’s Brick Products. Further declines would signal continued pressure in those overlapping markets, but would not directly establish Vicor’s sales.
Industrial Production MoM (Oct)
Factory, mine and utility output tracks industrial activity that supports demand from Vicor’s industrial equipment, rail and heavy-equipment customers, whose purchases of its Brick power products can affect sales.
Rising output would point to stronger industrial activity and could support production and purchases by Vicor’s industrial, rail and heavy-equipment customers; falling output would point to weaker activity and potentially less demand for its Brick power products.
