Company overview

Tilray Brands combines a pharmaceutical distribution business with cannabis and beverage production. Pharmaceutical distribution is its largest revenue source, while cannabis and beverages each contribute substantial, broadly similar shares. Its German subsidiary CC Pharma buys medicines elsewhere in Europe and resells them to German pharmacies and pharmaceutical wholesalers. It also imports medical cannabis and handles logistics for Tilray’s German cannabis business.

Cannabis sales come mainly from Canada’s adult-use market. Tilray grows and processes cannabis, selling brands such as Good Supply through provincial and territorial distribution agencies. These supply agreements account for a significant portion of company revenue, but do not all guarantee purchases. It also sells medical cannabis directly to Canadian patients online and internationally through subsidiaries and pharmaceutical distributors. Cannabis operations require facility licenses and local approvals; cross-border shipments need import and export permits, and some markets require European pharmaceutical manufacturing standards.

The beverage business makes craft beer and spirits, including SweetWater, BrewDog and Breckenridge Distillery products. In the United States, it mainly sells to independent wholesalers that supply stores, bars and restaurants, making access to those distributors important. The acquired BrewDog business adds a U.K.-anchored brewery and hospitality network, with sales through pubs, retailers and online channels.

A smaller wellness business sells Manitoba Harvest and Just Hemp Foods hemp-based foods to retailers, wholesalers and consumers, and supplies hemp and other seed ingredients to businesses.

Beyond cannabis, Tilray's results hinge on German pharmaceutical distribution and beverage demand, with Carlsberg worth watching as its U.S. beer licensing partner from 2027.

  • Canopy Growth Corporation competes with Tilray for Canadian adult-use consumers and medical patients in Canada, Europe and Australia. Watch its medical cannabis sales in Germany and Poland for another view of markets contributing to Tilray's international growth.

  • Organigram Global Inc. competes with Tilray for Canadian cannabis consumers across price tiers, selling flower, pre-rolls and edibles. Its sales mix across these products offers a comparison for demand facing Tilray's brands, from Good Supply to Broken Coast.

  • Aurora Cannabis Inc. and Tilray both sell directly to Canadian medical patients and compete internationally with regulated medical cannabis products. Watch Aurora's Canadian medical gross profit after the April 1, 2026 reimbursement change: the same change cut Tilray's reimbursement ceiling from $8.50 to $6.00 per gram.

  • Cronos Group Inc. Common Share competes with Tilray for Canadian provincial buyers of flower, pre-rolls, vapes and edibles. Watch sales of its Spinach and Lord Jones products through provincial and territorial authorities; in Saskatchewan, Cronos instead sells to private retailers.

  • Village Farms International, Inc. competes with Tilray for Canadian cannabis customers through Pure Sunfarms in British Columbia and Rose LifeScience in Quebec. Its Canadian cannabis sales, rather than its produce or renewable-gas business, are the relevant comparison for Tilray's Canadian operations.

  • Sundial Growers Inc., operating as SNDL, competes with Tilray in producing and selling cannabis for Canada's adult-use and medical markets. Watch its cannabis operations separately from liquor sales and its Value Buds and Spiritleaf retail stores to compare the production business with Tilray.

  • High Tide Inc.'s Canadian cannabis stores collect consumer spending in the market that supports Tilray's adult-use brands, while Tilray sells through provincial and territorial distribution systems. Watch High Tide's Canadian store sales for a retail view of that demand, not as evidence of a direct supply relationship with Tilray.

  • Intercure Ltd. relies on its exclusive Tilray partnership for medical cannabis product sources and access to production facilities supporting its international supply chain. Watch import and export permits: InterCure cannot distribute partnership products until regulatory requirements are met, so approvals determine when this route can reach medical patients.

  • IM Cannabis Corp. competes with Tilray for German pharmacy customers, importing medical cannabis through Adjupharm and distributing it to licensed pharmacies. Watch its German sales for another view of the market Tilray serves through CC Pharma, where higher volumes need not mean stronger revenue when prices fall.
