Company

Company overview

Turtle Beach Corporation develops and markets equipment that gamers use to hear, communicate and control gameplay under the Turtle Beach and PDP brands. Its range includes console and PC headsets and controllers, alongside PC peripherals and flight and racing simulation accessories. Suppliers in Asia manufacture its products, which it sells globally to large retailers and distributors that bring them to consumers.

A small group of customers supplies most of its sales, with Walmart, Amazon and Best Buy among the largest. These customers have no long-term commitments to buy specified quantities, so their purchasing decisions matter considerably. Sales are also seasonal, with a substantial share coming during holiday shopping and new-product launches late in the year.

Demand depends partly on the popularity of PC gaming, consoles such as Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, and the games released for them. Compatibility also depends on platform owners: Turtle Beach needs Microsoft's license to sell Xbox-compatible audio products, and certain headsets require proprietary chips or wireless modules from Microsoft or its designated supplier. Losing that license would limit what the company could sell.

Watch Nintendo: Turtle Beach also depends on its console ecosystem, where Switch 2 adoption and online gaming with voice chat expand demand for compatible headsets and controllers.

  • Corsair competes with Turtle Beach for gamers buying headsets, controllers, keyboards, mice and simulation accessories. Its Gamer and Creator Peripherals business is the part to watch for competition in these products, rather than its PC components and systems.

  • Logitech sells gaming peripherals to the same buyers as Turtle Beach and explicitly names it as a gaming-products competitor. Watch Logitech G gaming products for this rivalry, rather than Logitech's broader sales of office peripherals and video equipment.

  • Turtle Beach's headset and controller demand depends partly on the PlayStation user base that Sony serves with consoles, games and peripherals. Watch Sony's PlayStation hardware sales and console refreshes for changes in the audience buying compatible accessories.

  • Turtle Beach depends on Microsoft both for the Xbox consoles and games players buy and for permission and proprietary chips or wireless modules needed in certain Xbox-compatible headsets. Watch component availability and license changes: shortages or lost permission could limit those headset sales.

  • GameStop sells Turtle Beach products to shoppers, so both are exposed to spending on console games and accessories. Its console and accessory sales are the relevant demand signal for Turtle Beach, rather than its collectibles business.

  • Best Buy is a major buyer of Turtle Beach accessories, accounting for between 14% and 28% of Turtle Beach's consolidated gross sales in 2025, and sells computers and peripherals to consumers. Watch its purchasing of Turtle Beach headsets and other accessories: retailer buying can shift Turtle Beach revenue between quarters.
