Company

Company overview

Sui Group Holdings Limited shifted from specialty finance toward holding digital assets in 2025. It uses investor capital to acquire SUI, the Sui blockchain’s native token, as its principal treasury asset. It commits almost all these tokens to helping secure the network, a process called staking, and receives additional SUI as rewards. Staking supplies most revenue; portfolio investment income is the other substantial source.

Its non-bank lending business remains active, providing short-term financing for smaller or tailored transactions that traditional lenders may not handle, in return for interest and fees. The investment portfolio depends heavily on Mustang Funding, a litigation-finance provider that pays interest on the company’s loan. That loan ranks behind Mustang’s senior lenders for repayment and collateral rights.

The digital-asset business depends heavily on SUI’s market price and staking rewards. BitGo holds all the company’s SUI, making access to its assets dependent on that custodian. SUI’s U.S. regulatory classification remains unsettled: if regulators treat the company as an investment company, it could have to dispose of assets and face restrictions on investments and securities issuance.

Sui Group Holdings Limited’s results hinge chiefly on SUI prices and staking returns, while its Sui Foundation relationship sets it apart from these other-token treasury companies.

  • DeFi Development Corp. offers investors a close alternative to Sui Group Holdings Limited: it buys SOL and commits tokens to help validate network transactions for rewards, much as Sui Group holds and stakes SUI. Its SOL staking rewards provide a comparison for the income Sui Group earns from its SUI holdings, though the tokens differ.

  • Sol Strategies Inc. competes with Sui Group Holdings Limited for investors who want to own shares in a company that holds tokens and earns staking rewards, using SOL rather than SUI. It also runs Solana network infrastructure and provides staking services to institutional and retail customers, so its customer-facing business extends beyond returns on its own tokens.

  • Sharplink, Inc. competes with Sui Group Holdings Limited for investor capital by holding ETH and committing it to network validators to earn staking rewards, rather than holding SUI. Its $3.2 billion capital raise following the treasury strategy’s launch shows the funding it attracted in a market where competition can affect Sui Group’s financing for SUI purchases.

  • Upexi, Inc. competes with Sui Group Holdings Limited for listed digital-asset investment capital, holding and staking mainly SOL rather than SUI. Its SOL staking income comes from newly issued tokens and transaction fees, making that income—not sales from its consumer brands—the closer comparison with Sui Group’s staking returns.

  • Strategy Inc competes with Sui Group Holdings Limited for investors seeking token exposure through shares, raising financing to buy Bitcoin rather than SUI. Watch its interest expense on debt used mainly for Bitcoin purchases: it highlights the financing cost of building a token treasury, separate from its enterprise software subscriptions and licenses.

  • Bit Digital, Inc. competes with Sui Group Holdings Limited for investors seeking token holdings and staking returns through listed shares, offering an ETH treasury and staking strategy instead of Sui Group’s SUI strategy.

  • Forum Markets, Incorporated gives investors an alternative to Sui Group Holdings Limited by holding and staking mainly ETH rather than SUI. Its staking rewards and protocol incentives are the closer comparison today, but it expects future revenue to come mainly from investments that put assets into token form and earn yields, fees and investment income.

  • Canton Strategic Holdings, Inc. offers investors a Canton Coin treasury alternative to Sui Group Holdings Limited’s SUI-focused holdings. Watch whether its planned network-validation operations produce recurring Canton Coin rewards: these remain expectations, unlike the staking income Sui Group already recognizes.
