Most of Pharming Group N.V.’s revenue comes from the United States, where its main medicine, RUCONEST, is used when hereditary angioedema attacks occur. Given intravenously, it replaces a protein called C1 inhibitor. The company also sells Joenja (leniolisib), an oral treatment for activated PI3K delta syndrome (APDS), but RUCONEST supplies most of its revenue.
Two U.S. specialty-pharmacy customers buy and distribute its medicines and together account for most revenue. These pharmacies also support patients and help fill prescriptions. Government and private-insurer coverage makes treatment affordable for many patients, so sales depend on reimbursement as well as prescriptions.
Pharming relies on outside manufacturers, including Sanofi and BioConnection, for drug production and supply. It may market its medicines only for approved uses: RUCONEST treats acute attacks, not prevention, and Joenja is approved for APDS. Wider use of preventive HAE treatments can reduce patients’ need for acute rescue medicine.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Pharming’s results hinge mainly on U.S. RUCONEST sales, so also watch HAE rivals CSL and KalVista, neither of which appears here.
Pharvaris N.V. is developing oral deucrictibant for acute hereditary angioedema (HAE) attacks, directly challenging the intravenous RUCONEST that Pharming sells to treat those attacks. Its positive Phase 3 topline results for on-demand treatment make deucrictibant’s development progress worth watching.
BioCryst Pharmaceuticals Inc sells daily oral ORLADEYO to prevent attacks in the same HAE patients whose acute attacks Pharming treats with RUCONEST. Watch ORLADEYO sales for evidence of how widely these patients are adopting preventive treatment.
Takeda competes for the HAE patients Pharming serves with RUCONEST: it sells FIRAZYR to treat acute attacks and TAKHZYRO to prevent them.
Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. sells DAWNZERA to prevent HAE attacks, potentially reducing the acute attacks that require Pharming’s RUCONEST.
Intellia Therapeutics, Inc’s Phase 3 gene-editing treatment lonvo-z could change treatment needs for HAE patients who currently rely on the RUCONEST Pharming sells. Watch its planned U.S. launch in the first half of 2027, which remains subject to development and approval.
ADARx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is developing onvuzosiran for the same HAE patient population that Pharming serves with RUCONEST. Its onvuzosiran clinical progress is the part of its pipeline to watch for Pharming.
Pharming relies on Sanofi to carry out downstream manufacturing and supply services for its medicines because it lacks its own facilities to manufacture and test them. A failure to meet Pharming’s supply needs could be difficult to replace quickly and hurt medicine sales.
Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited earningsTAK
Takeda’s report will show how demand for acute HAE treatments and prevention is shifting in the market Pharming’s RUCONEST serves.
Compare Takeda’s sales trends for FIRAZYR, which treats acute attacks, and TAKHZYRO, which prevents them. Steady demand for acute treatment without a clear shift toward prevention would support the market for RUCONEST; stronger prevention alongside weaker acute treatment would suggest fewer attacks for RUCONEST to treat.
Sanofi earningsSNY
Sanofi’s report offers a read on the manufacturing and supply business Pharming relies on for services to make and test its medicines.
Look for Sanofi’s comments on the reliability of its manufacturing and supply services. Steady execution would support Pharming’s ability to obtain medicines and supply patients; production or supply problems could be hard to replace quickly, risking delayed deliveries and constrained sales.
BioCryst Pharmaceuticals Inc earningsBCRX
BioCryst’s report will show how demand for daily preventive ORLADEYO is changing among HAE patients whose acute attacks Pharming treats with RUCONEST.
Watch whether ORLADEYO sales continue to grow, and compare that trend with Pharming’s RUCONEST sales. Faster ORLADEYO growth would suggest more patients may be preventing attacks, leaving fewer acute attacks for RUCONEST to treat; slower growth would offer weaker evidence of that shift and more support for demand for acute treatment.
Pharming Group N.V. earningsThis company
Pharming’s report will show whether RUCONEST sales are holding up and Joenja is adding enough sales and gross profit to broaden the business.
Read RUCONEST and Joenja sales alongside gross profit. Steady RUCONEST sales with Joenja growing and gross profit rising would show both medicines are supporting the business; if RUCONEST weakens and Joenja does not make up the gap, Pharming remains highly dependent on RUCONEST.
