Company

Company overview

OR Royalties Inc. owns contractual rights to income and metals from mines operated by other companies; it does not run the mines itself. Gold and silver account for most revenue, and royalties contribute more than streams. Under royalty agreements, mine owners pay it a share of production value, after any contractually allowed costs, in cash or metal. Under stream agreements, it invests upfront for rights to buy future metal production at an agreed price, then sells the metal to customers. Its CSA silver stream, for example, lets it buy silver at a small fraction of the market price.

A significant share of revenue comes from the Canadian Malartic Complex in Québec, operated by Agnico, making that mine especially important to the business. More broadly, income depends on metal prices and operators continuing to produce and make payments or deliveries. OR Royalties has little or no say in mine operations. Interests in exploration and development projects depend on their owners securing funding and permits and bringing the mines into production.

Watch Capstone Copper’s Mantos Blancos mine too: its silver deliveries supplied OR Royalties with 12,830 gold-equivalent ounces in 2025, second only to Canadian Malartic.

  • OR Royalties depends heavily on Agnico Eagle’s Canadian Malartic gold complex: payments tied to its production supplied 31,914 of OR’s 80,775 gold-equivalent ounces in 2025. Watch Agnico’s production and underground expansion there, since OR receives royalties but cannot control mine operations.

  • Triple Flag Precious Metals competes directly with OR Royalties to fund miners in return for a share of mine output or revenue, or the right to buy metals at agreed prices. Its new financing deals show who is winning the mining projects both companies seek.

  • Franco-Nevada shares OR Royalties’ exposure to Alamos’s Island Gold properties, where both receive payments tied to mine production, and both finance mines through royalties and metal-purchase agreements. Island Gold production is the concrete link to watch, rather than Franco-Nevada’s whole portfolio.

  • Royal Gold competes with OR Royalties to buy existing rights to mine payments and to fund miners in exchange for future metal deliveries at agreed prices. Watch the terms of Royal Gold’s new deals: transaction pricing, structure and access to capital help decide who wins these interests.

  • Wheaton Precious Metals competes with OR Royalties to fund miners in exchange for metal deliveries bought at contractually discounted prices, then earns revenue by selling those metals. Its delivery volumes and realized selling prices offer a comparison for OR’s metal-purchase business, not a forecast of OR’s own mine deliveries.

  • Alamos Gold’s Island Gold expansion feeds into OR Royalties’ growth outlook because OR receives production-linked payments covering nearly all the mine’s current reserves and resources. Watch Alamos’s expansion progress and Island Gold output, rather than its total gold production across other mines.

  • Harmony Gold’s CSA mine supplies OR Royalties with all payable silver and a contractual share of payable copper, for which OR pays 4% of the respective spot metal price on delivery. Watch CSA’s silver and copper production: OR used conservative estimates for this mine in its 2026 guidance.

  • OR Royalties is exposed to Osisko Gold Group through its equity stake, a 5% production-revenue royalty at Cariboo and rights to buy 2.5% of Tintic’s metals. Watch Cariboo’s move toward construction and commercial production: its start-up is assumed in OR’s 2030 outlook, while Osisko has no commercially producing projects.

  • Gold Royalty Corp. follows the same mining-finance model as OR Royalties, receiving mine-linked payments or metal deliveries rather than operating mines. Only eight of its 258 interests are on cash-flowing assets, so separate current royalty revenue from earlier-stage projects when comparing it with OR.

  • Trekor Metals’ Gibraltar copper mine supplies OR Royalties with all payable silver until cumulative deliveries reach 6,811,603 ounces, then 35% thereafter, with no cash payment by OR on delivery. Watch Gibraltar’s silver deliveries: 1.6 million ounces had been delivered by December 31, 2025, leaving the higher delivery share in place.

  • Buenaventura’s San Gabriel gold and silver mine adds a new payment source for OR Royalties, which holds a right to 1.5% of mine sales proceeds after specified deductions. Watch San Gabriel’s ramp-up and first royalty payments, both assumed in OR’s 2026 guidance; Buenaventura sells metals to smelters and traders.

  • Metalla Royalty & Streaming shares OR Royalties’ model of buying rights to production-linked mine income without directly bearing mine operating costs. Its royalty revenue is a useful comparison for OR’s royalty business, but comes from its own project portfolio rather than OR’s mines.

  • Elemental Royalty and OR Royalties both depend on mining operators for production-linked payments and metal deliveries rather than running mines themselves. Elemental’s payment outlook rests on continued mining and operator disclosures, making it a comparison for the same reliance on outside operators in OR’s forecasts.

  • Vox Royalty and OR Royalties both buy rights to gold royalties and metal deliveries, so their receipts depend on partner mines meeting production forecasts. Watch Vox’s royalty and net precious-metal receipts against its 2026 outlook, which expects more receipts in the first half because of delivery timing.

  • SSR Mining’s Seabee gold mine pays OR Royalties 3% of sales proceeds after specified deductions, linking OR’s income to that Saskatchewan operation. Watch Seabee’s gold production and revenue, not SSR’s group totals; Seabee sells its unrefined gold bars primarily to banks.

  • First Majestic Silver’s Ermitaño gold and silver mine pays OR Royalties 2% of sales proceeds after specified deductions. Ermitaño’s gold and silver production is the relevant signal for OR, rather than First Majestic’s wider mine portfolio or retail silver-bullion sales.

  • Eldorado Gold’s Lamaque Complex pays OR Royalties a 1% royalty on producing Triangle and prospective Ormaque, Plug #4 and Parallel deposits, with a separate 2.5% royalty at Bourlamaque. Watch Triangle’s production and development of the covered deposits; Eldorado sells Lamaque’s unrefined gold bars to Ontario refineries.
