Melco Resorts & Entertainment brings casino gaming, hotels, dining and entertainment together at resorts such as City of Dreams and Studio City in Macau. These two properties account for most of its revenue. Casino income comes mainly from the money the casino wins from patrons after paying out their winnings; rooms, dining and other resort services provide a smaller revenue stream.
Outside Macau, Melco operates City of Dreams Manila in the Philippines and City of Dreams Mediterranean in Cyprus, alongside satellite casinos. In Sri Lanka, it leases and operates the casino at City of Dreams Sri Lanka and manages Nüwa Sri Lanka, rather than running the whole resort.
The business depends heavily on Chinese customers’ ability and willingness to visit Macau and spend there. China’s visa rules and restrictions on moving money abroad can constrain that spending, and Macau casinos cannot accept renminbi wagers. Melco must also maintain its gaming concession and licenses. In Macau, the government controls its table and machine allocations, and the concession requires investment in gaming and non-gaming projects; failure to meet its obligations can end its right to operate.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Melco’s results hinge chiefly on Chinese visitors and their Macau gaming spending, so watch Galaxy and SJM too—important competitors missing from this list.
Studio City depends on Melco to run its Macau casino, and the resort’s gaming and hospitality business contributed 28.6% of Melco’s operating revenue in 2025. Watch its mass-market table-game revenue: spending by those players feeds directly into a substantial part of Melco’s business.
Wynn Resorts competes with Melco for premium gaming patrons and resort visitors in Macau, selling guests casino play, luxury rooms, dining and entertainment. Watch Wynn Palace and Wynn Macau rather than its US resorts for a view of the competition facing Melco’s Macau business.
Las Vegas Sands competes with Melco in Macau for mass-market and higher-spending mass-market players, along with their hotel and entertainment spending. Its Macau mass-market gaming results are the clearest business line to watch against Melco’s focus on premium mass customers in Cotai.
MGM Resorts International competes with Melco through MGM China’s two Macau casinos, where guests spend on gaming and resort amenities. Watch those Macau properties’ results for competition in Melco’s principal market, rather than MGM’s Las Vegas hotel and entertainment business.
Trip.com Group’s Chinese travel-booking business and Melco’s Macau resorts both benefit when Chinese travelers take more trips and spend more at their destinations: Trip.com helps travelers book their journeys, while Melco earns from their resort stays and gaming.
Las Vegas Sands Corp. earningsLVS
Las Vegas Sands’ Macau casinos compete with Melco for mass-market and premium mass players, so its report will show how spending by this shared customer group is changing.
Look at Las Vegas Sands’ Macau mass-market gaming revenue alongside visitation or volume indicators it reports. If both hold up, demand among customers Melco also targets appears resilient; if both weaken, shared demand may be softening, or competition for those players may be intensifying. The takeaway is whether Melco’s Macau casinos face a steady pool of mass-market and premium mass customers or a harder fight for their spend.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
The Fed’s decision on its benchmark interest rate matters to Melco because higher rates can raise interest costs on floating-rate debt and new or refinanced borrowing, leaving less cash for resort operations and investment.
Expected4.0%Last release4.0%
If it comes in above expectations
For Melco, a higher-than-expected policy rate could increase interest costs as floating-rate debt reprices and borrowing is renewed or replaced, reducing earnings and cash available for resort investment.
If it comes in below expectations
For Melco, a lower-than-expected policy rate could ease costs as floating-rate debt reprices and borrowing is renewed or replaced, supporting earnings and leaving more cash for resort investment.
Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited earningsThis company
Melco earns most of its revenue from casinos, especially in Macau, and this report will show whether gaming growth is reaching property-level profit.
Read casino revenue alongside Adjusted Property EBITDA, Melco’s measure of property-level operating performance. If both rise, gaming spend is growing while properties retain enough after commissions, promotions and operating costs to improve operating performance. If revenue rises but Adjusted Property EBITDA weakens, the growth is costing more to capture. The conclusion is whether Macau gaming demand is producing stronger property-level performance, not just more sales.
Studio City International Holdings Limited earningsMSC
Melco operates Studio City’s casino, and Studio City’s report will show how mass-market table-game spending feeds a resort that generated 28.6% of Melco’s 2025 revenue.
Read Studio City’s mass-market table-game revenue alongside its total revenue. If table-game revenue strengthens and total revenue follows, customer gaming spend is supporting the resort Melco operates; if it weakens, the casino business and a property representing a substantial share of Melco’s revenue face pressure. The conclusion is whether Studio City is reinforcing or weighing on Melco’s business.
