Immatics N.V. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing treatments that help immune-system T cells recognize and attack cancer cells. Its main focus is PRAME, a protein whose fragments appear on tumor-cell surfaces. Its candidates include anzu-cel, made by collecting, engineering and multiplying a patient’s own T cells before returning them to that patient, and IMA402, a drug designed to connect T cells with cancer cells.
The company has no products approved for sale. All revenue comes from collaborations with Moderna and Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), with Moderna supplying most. These drugmakers pay for research and access to rights to develop future treatments through upfront payments and research-cost reimbursements. Immatics can also receive payments when agreed development or commercial milestones are met and royalties if resulting products reach the market; it has not yet received royalties.
Immatics funds development through collaboration payments and equity financing and expects to need further financing. Selling its own treatments requires regulatory approval, supported by evidence of safety and effectiveness and reliable manufacturing.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Immatics’ prospects hinge on clinical success of its PRAME therapies and partner funding, with Lentigen Technology supplying commercial lentiviral vectors for anzu-cel.
Immunocore Holdings plc competes with Immatics in PRAME therapies and melanoma treatments; both develop medicines that recognize peptide signals presented by HLA and engage T cells, known as TCR bispecifics. Watch Immunocore’s PRAME trial results for competition to Immatics’ IMA402, while its KIMMTRAK sales show uptake in HLA-A*02:01-positive adults with unresectable or metastatic uveal melanoma.
Moderna pays for and licenses Immatics’ T-cell-receptor engineering and cancer-antigen discovery work, making it a direct source of research funding as well as a partner on PRAME treatment combinations. Watch progress on combining anzu-cel with Moderna’s PRAME mRNA treatment and the collaboration revenue Immatics receives from Moderna, which totaled €37.247 million in 2025.
Iovance Biotherapeutics, Inc. already sells a competing cell therapy for the advanced-melanoma market Immatics is pursuing with engineered T cells. Its Amtagvi treatment multiplies T cells taken from a patient’s tumor; sales to treat adults with previously treated advanced melanoma are a concrete measure of demand for this competing approach.
Bristol Myers Squibb pays Immatics to develop engineered T-cell treatments for solid tumors and can license candidates, then take over worldwide development, manufacturing and sales. Watch licensing decisions on the remaining program: Immatics’ BMS collaboration revenue fell to €11.019 million in 2025, mainly because of agreement terminations and the timing of project costs relative to progress.
BioNTech competes with Immatics in PRAME-targeting cancer treatments and therapies that engineer T cells with tumor-recognizing receptors. For Immatics holders, BioNTech’s progress in these cancer programs is the relevant news to watch, rather than sales of its commercial COVID-19 vaccine Comirnaty.
TScan Therapeutics, Inc. competes with Immatics in cancer therapies made by engineering T-cell receptors, but has shifted its priority toward blood diseases. Its November 2025 pause in enrollment for the Phase 1 PLEXI-T solid-tumor trial is the key distinction to watch, rather than treating its blood-disease progress as a direct readout for Immatics’ PRAME programs.
Replimune Group, Inc. is pursuing advanced-melanoma treatments using cancer-killing viruses, an alternative to Immatics’ T-cell therapies. Watch clinical and approval news rather than product sales: Replimune had no approved products or product-sale revenue through the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026.
IDEAYA Biosciences, Inc.’s darovasertib competes for the uveal-melanoma treatment opportunity pursued by Immatics’ anzu-cel. Watch darovasertib’s development progress: IDEAYA retains U.S. rights, while its licensing partner handles regulatory and commercial activities outside the United States.
Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. earningsBMY
Bristol Myers Squibb’s report may show whether it is still advancing an Immatics T-cell program or has chosen to take over its development, manufacturing and sales.
Look for any disclosed update on the remaining Immatics program and whether BMS exercises its option to license it. If BMS takes the license, it assumes worldwide development, manufacturing and sales, while Immatics may receive milestone payments and royalties on future sales; if the program stalls or no license follows, Immatics has less partner-led progress to build on. The conclusion is whether this collaboration is still advancing toward potential payments.
Immunocore Holdings plc earningsIMCR
Immunocore Holdings plc’s report may reveal PRAME trial progress, offering a read on a competing T-cell therapy aimed at the same treatment opportunity as Immatics’ IMA402.
Focus on any disclosed progress or results from Immunocore’s PRAME trial, not KIMMTRAK sales, which do not directly measure demand for IMA402. Progress would show another competitor advancing in the same treatment area; delays or setbacks would ease that competitive pressure for now. The conclusion is whether competition in PRAME therapies is intensifying.
Iovance Biotherapeutics, Inc. earningsIOVA
Iovance Biotherapeutics, Inc.’s Amtagvi sales show whether patients and treatment centers are taking up a cell therapy for advanced melanoma, the market Immatics’ anzu-cel is pursuing.
Read Amtagvi sales alongside the fact that it treats adults with previously treated advanced melanoma. Rising sales would show that an approved tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte therapy is reaching more patients, raising the commercial bar for Immatics if anzu-cel reaches the market; weak sales would show that uptake can be hard even after approval. The conclusion is how accessible this cell-therapy market may be.
Moderna, Inc. earningsMRNA
Moderna’s report may show whether its cancer programs with Immatics are advancing, giving readers a view of a partnership that funds Immatics’ research.
Look for any Moderna update on its cancer programs with Immatics, especially the PRAME combination work. Continued progress would show that the partnership still offers a path for development and research support; a pause or setback would make that future support less certain. Moderna’s report alone cannot establish how much collaboration revenue Immatics recognized. The conclusion is whether the joint work is still moving toward clinical development.
Immatics N.V. earningsThis company
Immatics N.V. has no product-sales revenue, so its report shows whether collaboration income is keeping pace with the cost of developing its cancer therapies.
Read collaboration revenue alongside research and development costs. If collaboration revenue supports more of that spending, partner-funded work is helping advance Immatics’ pipeline; if revenue falls while costs stay high, more of the work must be funded from cash reserves or future financing. Collaboration revenue can shift with project costs, milestones and agreement changes, and is not product sales. The conclusion is whether partner funding is keeping up with development spending.
