Helen of Troy supplies everyday consumer goods under brands it owns or licenses. Its Home & Outdoor business covers kitchen and storage products, drinkware and outdoor gear; Beauty & Wellness covers hair styling, personal care and household products such as humidifiers and air and water purifiers. Both businesses contribute substantially to sales, with Beauty & Wellness slightly larger. Owned brands include OXO, Hydro Flask, Osprey, Drybar and Olive & June.
Retailers buy its products to resell to consumers, while the company also sells directly to consumers and through distributors. Most revenue comes from the United States. Amazon is its largest customer, and Walmart and Target are also major buyers. A small group of large customers accounts for a substantial share of sales, generally without commitments to minimum purchases. Retailers’ repeat orders depend on how well the products sell to shoppers.
Helen of Troy relies on independent manufacturers, mainly in Asia, with China an important source. This makes sourcing costs and deliveries sensitive to tariffs and trade restrictions. Beauty & Wellness also earns a significant share of its revenue from licensed brands, including Revlon, Honeywell, Braun and Vicks. Keeping those rights matters: licensors must approve new products and packaging, some agreements require minimum royalties, and licenses can be terminated or not renewed.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Helen of Troy's results hinge on discretionary consumer spending, retailer replenishment and import tariffs, while privately held Conair and Stanley owner PMI Worldwide add competition in beauty tools and insulated drinkware.
Newell Brands competes with Helen of Troy for household purchases of kitchenware, food storage, outdoor products and wellness appliances. Its Rubbermaid storage products and Contigo drinkware are concrete lines to watch against Helen of Troy's home and hydration products.
YETI Holdings competes directly for outdoor customers with premium drinkware, coolers and bags that overlap Helen of Troy's Hydro Flask products and outdoor range. Watch YETI's drinkware sales: Helen of Troy cited competition and lost distribution in insulated drinkware as reasons for its fiscal 2026 Home & Outdoor decline.
Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc. competes for retail buyers with Remington personal-care appliances that overlap Helen of Troy's hair-styling and grooming tools. Its personal-care product launches and relationships with retailers and distributors are the relevant signs of competitive pressure.
SharkNinja's beauty appliances compete with Helen of Troy's hair-styling tools for consumers' money and retail shelf space. For this tie, watch its beauty appliances rather than the vacuum cleaners and kitchen appliances that also generate Shark and Ninja sales.
Lifetime Brands competes with Helen of Troy's OXO and hydration products by selling kitchen tools, food storage and insulated drinkware, mainly for consumers seeking moderately priced goods. Its kitchenware and insulated-drinkware sales are the relevant comparison for Helen of Troy, rather than its broader tableware business.
Hamilton Beach competes with Helen of Troy's home products for household spending and a place in retailers' assortments through its small household appliances and specialty housewares. Its Home and Commercial Products business is the relevant area to follow, not the connected-device leases and software licenses in Health.
Sally Beauty offers a read on consumer and salon spending on hair care, styling tools and nail products—the categories behind part of Helen of Troy's Beauty & Wellness revenue. Its sales to retail consumers and salon professionals are the useful signal here, rather than evidence of a direct supply relationship with Helen of Troy.
Newell Brands Inc. earningsNWL
Newell Brands' Rubbermaid storage and Contigo drinkware compete with Helen of Troy's home and hydration products for household spending and retail shelf space, so its report offers a read on that contest.
Look at Newell Brands' sales and retailer-order commentary for relevant lines such as storage and drinkware, and compare the direction with Helen of Troy's Home & Outdoor sales. If Newell's related sales hold up or grow while Helen of Troy weakens, Newell may be winning more orders or shelf space. If both are weak, soft household demand or retailer replenishment is more likely part of the pressure. The comparison helps distinguish competition from a broader market problem.
YETI Holdings, Inc. earningsYETI
YETI's drinkware competes with Helen of Troy's Hydro Flask for outdoor customers, so its report can show whether demand in that shared market is holding up and competition is intensifying.
Read YETI's drinkware sales alongside its broader business. If drinkware outperforms, customers are still buying outdoor drinkware, but YETI may also be winning customers or shelf space in the market Hydro Flask shares. If drinkware weakens, the category may be soft, or YETI may have company-specific problems; that alone does not mean Helen of Troy will benefit. The comparison helps show whether demand in the shared market is holding up and whether competition is intensifying.
Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc. earningsSBH
Sally Beauty sells hair-care and styling products to consumers and salons, so its report offers a signal about spending in categories connected to Helen of Troy's Beauty & Wellness business.
Read Sally Beauty's sales to retail consumers separately from its sales to salon professionals. If both hold up, spending in related hair-care categories has not clearly weakened; if either or both decline, the category environment may be less supportive for Helen of Troy's Beauty & Wellness business. Sally Beauty does not sell the same mix as Helen of Troy, so this is a demand signal, not direct evidence of Helen of Troy's appliance sales.
Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc. earningsSPB
Spectrum Brands' Remington personal-care appliances compete with Helen of Troy's hair-styling and grooming tools, and its report will show how strongly that rival is competing for customers and shelf space.
Watch Spectrum Brands' personal-care sales and what it says about product launches and retailer and distributor relationships; use any separately reported figures for those products if available. Stronger relevant sales alongside active channel efforts would point to more pressure for Helen of Troy's shelf space and customers. Weaker sales could mean less competitive pressure, or simply soft demand across the category. Read the result with Spectrum's other businesses and channel commentary; its growth is not automatically a loss for Helen of Troy.
Retail Sales MoM (Oct)
U.S. retail sales track how much consumers are buying at stores and online; stronger or weaker spending can change retailer orders for Helen of Troy’s discretionary home, outdoor, beauty and wellness products, which drive its sales.
Rising retail sales point to stronger consumer spending that may support retailer orders for Helen of Troy’s products; falling sales point to weaker spending that may restrain orders and company sales.
Helen Of Troy Ltd earningsThis company
Helen of Troy sells Home & Outdoor and Beauty & Wellness products through retailers and directly to consumers, and this report will show whether sales are stabilizing and margins are still under pressure.
Read organic sales changes in Home & Outdoor and Beauty & Wellness alongside gross margin; acquisitions and currency can affect total sales without showing how the underlying businesses are changing. If organic sales stabilize in both segments and gross margin stops falling, demand and retailer-order pressure may be easing, with costs and promotions taking less from each sale. If sales keep falling and margin weakens, sales pressure and costs are still eroding profitability.
