Figma helps designers, developers and other team members work on interfaces for websites and applications, from design and prototyping to front-end development. Its products include Figma Design, Dev Mode and AI-powered Figma Make. Organizations pay for platform access, generally through monthly or annual subscriptions, with charges based on the seats they subscribe to.
Users can start with limited access through the free Starter plan. Teams pay for more advanced functionality through Professional, Organization or Enterprise plans. Adoption has often spread through users recommending Figma within their organizations rather than through management-led purchasing. The business depends on turning that use into paid subscriptions and persuading customers to renew and add seats; customers can also renew with fewer seats or leave.
Figma hosts its platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS), so service delivery depends on AWS. Its AI-powered products also rely on third-party models and continued access to them on workable terms. Export controls and sanctions restrict where and to whom Figma may provide its software and services.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Figma’s growth depends on teams adopting and expanding paid collaborative design tools, with privately held Canva an important design rival to watch beyond this list.
Adobe competes with Figma for designers and teams paying for creative and design software to produce digital content and interfaces.
WIX.com Ltd. competes with parts of Figma’s offering: it sells website-building tools to businesses and creators and identifies Figma’s graphic-design tools as overlapping its platform for building an online presence. Watch Wix’s premium subscriptions for evidence of willingness to pay for these tools; users must subscribe to accept online payments.
Atlassian and Figma serve teams working on the same software-development process: teams pay Atlassian for planning and collaboration tools and Figma for design tools.
Amplitude, Inc. and Figma serve product teams improving digital experiences: those teams pay Amplitude to analyze user behavior and Figma to design the experiences they want to improve.
GitLab and Figma both depend on software product-development activity: developers and enterprises pay GitLab for tools to develop and deliver software, while teams pay Figma to design that software’s interfaces.
Figma pays Amazon’s AWS for the computing, storage and bandwidth that host its platform, so AWS pricing and reliability directly matter to Figma’s costs and service. Watch AWS price changes or outages: higher charges can raise Figma’s hosting costs, while disruptions can prevent customers from using its design tools.

Amazon's AWS revenue and operating profit will show the cloud business's demand and economics, offering context for Figma's hosting costs but not revealing Figma's prices or service reliability.
Read AWS revenue growth alongside its operating margin. Strength in both would point to healthy cloud demand and sound AWS-wide economics, a more supportive backdrop for Figma's hosting; slower growth or a pressured margin could signal a tougher cost environment, but Amazon's overall figures cannot establish that Figma's bill rose or its platform had an outage.

Figma's report will show whether revenue from teams becoming paying customers is keeping pace with the cost of serving them, including AI and hosting costs.
Read revenue growth alongside gross margin, and use any reported paid-customer or retention figures to see whether they support the growth. Growing revenue with a steadier margin would show that paid business is expanding without further squeezing gross profit; slower growth with a falling margin would show monetization is not keeping pace with serving costs, putting AI and hosting costs in sharper focus.

Adobe's Digital Media business will show how paid demand for creative software is changing, offering a read on the design-software market where it competes with Figma.
Look at subscription revenue in Adobe's Digital Media business. Strength would show customers are still paying for creative software, leaving Figma in a market with demand but active competition; weakness could point to softer demand for these tools, but would not by itself show that customers are switching to Figma. Figma's own paid-customer and revenue figures are needed to tell whether it is capturing that demand.
