DocuSign helps businesses, government institutions and individuals send documents for electronic signature and manage the agreements that follow. Its eSignature product supplies the substantial majority of revenue. Customers pay recurring subscription fees for software access and support, typically billed annually in advance. eSignature pricing depends on the features customers need and the quantity of document packages they send for signature or approval; implementation and integration services provide a small share of revenue.
Its Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) platform combines eSignature with agreement storage, AI-driven analysis and workflow automation, with subscriptions priced by user and transaction-based add-ons. It also sells contract lifecycle management (CLM) software to handle drafting, negotiation, storage and analysis. IAM remains at an early stage, so the business still depends heavily on eSignature demand and customers renewing and expanding their subscriptions, rather than on any single large customer.
The service depends on laws that give electronic signatures legal effect. DocuSign must meet local signature and data-protection requirements and maintain authorizations needed to serve certain customers and markets; failures can limit service or leave signed documents unenforceable in some cases.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Adobe is DocuSign’s primary global rival for customers paying to send and sign agreements electronically. Watch Adobe Acrobat Sign rather than its creative or marketing software for news about that competition.
OneSpan Inc. competes with DocuSign for customers paying for electronic signatures and digital-agreement services, and names DocuSign as a primary rival. Its Digital Agreements business, which sells subscriptions for electronic signatures, online notarization and identity verification, is the part to watch rather than its cybersecurity business.
Dropbox competes with DocuSign for businesses paying to move agreement signing online: Dropbox Sign and DocuSign both sell electronic-signature subscriptions. Dropbox Sign is the product to watch for this rivalry, rather than Dropbox’s broader file-sharing and collaboration business.
BOX, INC. competes with DocuSign for business customers who pay to sign agreements electronically, offering Box Sign within its platform for managing and sharing content. Watch Box Sign’s role in that platform for news about this competition.

DocuSign’s report will show whether subscription customers keep renewing and expanding their use, and whether IAM is adding growth beyond eSignature.
Read subscription growth alongside IAM adoption. Steady subscription growth with broader IAM use would show that newer products are adding to growth as customers renew and expand; slower subscription growth with limited IAM adoption would point to continued reliance on eSignature, making renewals and customer expansion more central to growth.

Adobe’s report can offer clues about paid demand for electronic signatures, as Acrobat Sign and DocuSign compete for the same customers.
Look for Adobe’s comments on Acrobat Sign demand and customer adoption, not Adobe’s overall results as a proxy for e-signature sales. Stronger signs would point to a more active market for DocuSign to compete in; weaker signs would suggest the shared market may be cooling, but would not establish how DocuSign itself is performing.
