Amrize Ltd supplies materials for construction and renovation in the United States and Canada. Most revenue comes from Building Materials, which sells cement, aggregates such as sand and gravel, and products such as ready-mix concrete and asphalt to builders, contractors and infrastructure customers. These markets are local: heavy materials cost enough to transport that the location of plants and supplies matters.
Its other business, Building Envelope, sells roofing and wall systems for new buildings and repairs, directly to contractors or through distributors and dealers. This business earns much of its revenue through a few large distributors, whereas Building Materials does not depend materially on any single customer or small group of customers.
Demand depends on residential and commercial construction and government-funded infrastructure work. Repair and re-roofing demand is less likely to be postponed in a downturn than new construction. The company’s plants have substantial fixed costs, so profitability also depends on maintaining production and sales volumes. Facilities and mineral extraction require operating and environmental permits. Since separating from Holcim, Amrize has also faced temporary tax-agreement restrictions on certain acquisitions, asset sales and share transactions.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Amrize hinges on North American construction and reroofing demand; beyond this list, watch Heidelberg Materials in cement and Carlisle in roofing and wall systems.
CRH competes with Amrize to supply cement and aggregates to U.S. infrastructure, commercial and residential projects. Its Americas Materials Solutions results are the part to watch for demand in these overlapping construction markets.
Cemex competes directly with Amrize for U.S. construction customers buying cement, aggregates and ready-mix concrete. Watch its news on local cement pricing and deliveries: high transport costs keep competition close to the projects being supplied.
Martin Marietta competes with Amrize to supply aggregates, concrete and asphalt to U.S. infrastructure and building projects. Its crushed-stone, sand and gravel shipments are a useful demand signal: 37% went to highways and other public infrastructure in 2025.
Vulcan Materials competes with Amrize for local U.S. construction orders in aggregates, asphalt and ready-mix concrete. Watch its aggregates business by location rather than just nationwide totals, because transport costs limit how far these materials can compete.
Eagle Materials competes with Amrize to sell cement, concrete and aggregates into U.S. infrastructure and building construction. Its Heavy Materials results offer a clearer view of shared infrastructure demand than its wallboard business, which mainly serves residential construction.
Owens Corning competes with Amrize to sell roofing and insulation products to North American building customers. Watch its Roofing and Insulation sales rather than Doors to gauge demand in the products where they overlap.
RPM competes with Amrize for building-maintenance and construction customers buying roofing systems, protective coatings and sealants. News on those products is more relevant to Amrize than RPM's total sales, which also cover industrial, specialty and consumer markets.
Knife River competes regionally with Amrize to sell aggregates, ready-mix concrete and asphalt to public and private construction customers. Focus on its materials sales: its contracting work mainly serves public-sector customers and is a different line of business.
Arcosa's Construction Products business competes with Amrize to supply aggregates and asphalt to U.S. construction customers. Watch that segment's local materials business, not its structures or transportation products: quarry proximity and transport costs shape the overlap.
Construction Partners competes with Amrize to sell asphalt and aggregates for U.S. roadbuilding and other construction projects. Its Sunbelt road construction and maintenance business offers a view of public and private demand for those materials.
Granite Construction's Materials business competes with Amrize to sell aggregates and asphalt to third-party construction customers. Watch those outside sales separately from materials used in Granite's own projects to see the business that overlaps with Amrize.
Housing Starts (Sep)
Amrize’s new-home construction readings track homebuilding activity, which drives purchases of its cement, aggregates, ready-mix and roofing and wall products and therefore its sales volumes.
Expected1.31MLast release1.275M
If it comes in above expectations
If the reading is above the 1.31M estimate, it is above the previous 1.275M. More homes started or permitted, or stronger new-home sales, would point to firmer building activity and could lift purchases of Amrize’s construction materials and building-envelope products, increasing sales volumes.
If it comes in below expectations
Fewer homes started or permitted, or weaker new-home sales, would point to softer building activity and could reduce purchases of Amrize’s construction materials and building-envelope products, lowering sales volumes.
Cemex S.A.B. de C.V. earningsCX
CEMEX's report will show how cement prices and deliveries are holding up in U.S. markets where it competes with Amrize.
Read CEMEX's U.S. cement pricing alongside its deliveries. If both hold up or improve, demand and pricing in overlapping markets appear better supported, a constructive signal for Amrize's cement business; if both weaken, those markets may be facing softer demand or greater price pressure.
Amrize Ltd earningsThis company
Amrize's report will show whether sales and pricing in Building Materials and Building Envelope are supporting earnings in both businesses.
Read revenue for Building Materials and Building Envelope alongside each business's adjusted EBITDA margin, then check the company's explanations of price, volume and costs. Steady revenue and margins would show pricing and sales absorbing cost or volume pressure; rising revenue with a falling margin would show costs or volume still squeezing earnings; declines in both would show pressure reaching earnings as well as sales.
Vulcan Materials Company(Holding Company) earningsVMC
Vulcan Materials' report will show how aggregates sales and pricing vary by location, a signal of conditions in local markets where it competes with Amrize.
Read Vulcan Materials' aggregates shipments and pricing by location, rather than relying on nationwide totals. If both hold up in relevant markets, local orders and pricing appear better supported, a constructive signal for Amrize's overlapping business; if both weaken, local materials sales may be under greater pressure.
Owens Corning earningsOC
Owens Corning's report will show how roofing sales are faring in the North American market where it competes with Amrize.
Focus on Owens Corning's Roofing sales and its explanation of volume and pricing. If sales and volume both hold up, demand in the overlapping roofing market appears supported, a constructive signal for Amrize's roofing products; if both weaken, the market may be softening, though pricing or product mix can also affect sales.
