Company

Company overview

ZOOZ Strategy Ltd. now operates mainly as a bitcoin treasury company rather than an EV-charging equipment supplier. It has used capital raised from investors to buy bitcoin and continues to depend on fundraising to support its activities. It currently generates no revenue. Selling bitcoin can release cash, while strategies to earn income from its holdings remain opportunities it is exploring, not established revenue sources. Its business depends heavily on bitcoin’s market value, and custodians hold its bitcoin.

The smaller legacy business serves charging sites where limited grid capacity prevents ultra-fast EV charging. Its ZOOZTER™-100 stores energy in spinning flywheels and releases it alongside grid power to boost charging power. Customers historically paid for systems and services supporting installation, operation and maintenance. ZOOZ continues to support installed systems and is exploring alternatives for its patented flywheel technology, but this business currently contributes no revenue.

Regulation also limits its options. If U.S. regulators classified bitcoin as a security, ZOOZ could face investment-company registration requirements or have to change or cease much of its business. Israeli research-grant rules restrict overseas manufacturing and transfers or licensing of funded technology, with specified activities requiring approval.

ZOOZ Strategy Ltd.’s results now hinge mainly on bitcoin prices and financing its bitcoin holdings, rather than sales of its legacy EV-charging technology.

  • Coinbase Global and ZOOZ Strategy Ltd. both face the crypto investment cycle, but ZOOZ’s bitcoin holdings change in value while Coinbase charges customers fees to trade crypto. Watch Coinbase’s consumer trading-fee revenue for a signal of crypto investor activity, not a direct measure of gains or losses on ZOOZ’s holdings.
