cbdMD sells products for consumers seeking help with sleep, recovery, mood and other wellness needs. Its cbdMD brand sells cannabidiol (CBD) products for people, while Paw CBD serves pet owners. It also sells functional mushroom supplements under ATRx Labs and hemp-derived THC beverages under Herbal Oasis, where permitted.
Consumers buying online provide most of its revenue. Retailers and distributors also buy its products for resale, with beverage distributors helping Herbal Oasis reach stores. This reliance on online sales makes attracting new customers at an affordable cost important; advertising-platform rules and algorithms can limit its ability to reach them.
The business also depends on which hemp products regulators allow it to sell. Full-spectrum products, which contain CBD alongside other cannabinoids and trace THC, supply a substantial share of revenue. A federal law scheduled to take effect in November 2026 would tighten THC limits in hemp consumables and may affect these products, although its implementation remains uncertain. Separately, the FDA's position against adding CBD to food or marketing it as a dietary supplement could restrict the company's operations if enforced.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Village Farms International, Inc. competes for cbdMD’s core online CBD customers through its Balanced Health Botanicals subsidiary, which sells hemp-derived CBD products under CBDistillery.
RYTHM, Inc. competes directly with cbdMD’s cannabinoid products and Herbal Oasis drinks by selling hemp-derived THC beverages and edibles to consumers online and through retailers. Watch the retail reach of its Señorita drinks for competition facing Herbal Oasis.
Organigram Global Inc. competes with cbdMD’s Herbal Oasis for U.S. consumers buying intoxicating hemp beverages through its Collective Project hemp-derived THC drinks.
Tilray Brands, Inc. competes with cbdMD’s Herbal Oasis for both consumers and beverage distribution through its U.S. hemp-derived THC drinks.
Village Farms International, Inc. earningsVFF
Village Farms' report will show how its CBDistillery online CBD business is doing, offering a read on its competition with cbdMD for online customers.
Look for any disclosed CBDistillery sales or other signs of customer demand. If the business strengthens, a rival for online CBD buyers is holding up, a stronger sign of competition for cbdMD's e-commerce business—but it does not prove customers switched between the two companies. If it weakens, the competitive signal is less forceful, but that does not establish that cbdMD has won customers back.
Organigram Global Inc. earningsOGI
Organigram's report can show demand and retail reach for its Collective Project hemp-derived THC drinks in the U.S., a direct competitive signal for cbdMD's Herbal Oasis.
Look for any disclosed Collective Project drink sales or demand, alongside whether retail reach is expanding. Stronger demand with wider reach would make Organigram a more formidable rival for Herbal Oasis; weak demand or limited reach would mean a weaker competitive signal. Neither outcome substitutes for cbdMD's own sales results.

cbdMD's report will show whether wholesale sales keep growing, e-commerce sales stop falling, and gross profit gets closer to covering operating expenses.
Read e-commerce and wholesale sales together, then compare gross profit with operating expenses. If e-commerce steadies, wholesale keeps growing, and gross profit moves closer to expenses, the sales mix is becoming more supportive and the business is nearer to covering its costs. If e-commerce keeps falling or gross profit still cannot cover expenses, the sales mix or cost base is still leaving the business short.
