Company

Company overview

VCI Global Limited serves mainly Malaysian businesses, from small and medium-sized companies to government-linked agencies and listed conglomerates. It helps clients prepare for and complete stock-market listings, manage investor relations and address boardroom matters. It also develops software and helps clients adopt technology. Technology development is its largest revenue line, while business-strategy consulting supplies most of the remainder.

Clients pay agreed retainers or project fees, with some consulting fees becoming payable when specified objectives or milestones are reached. Certain business-consulting clients can pay in their own shares rather than cash. Technology clients pay for consulting and software built to their requirements. The company also earns a smaller stream of interest from loans to customers.

Winning and completing engagements depends heavily on senior managers, their client relationships and referrals. Revenue also depends on clients’ business activity and when projects reach fee-paying milestones.

Alongside its service business, VCI Global holds digital assets, including OOB/OOBT tokens. It is seeking a regulated-exchange license for initiatives involving tokens and real-world assets; those plans depend on regulatory approvals. It also intends to operate without becoming an investment company under U.S. law, a status that could require it to limit investments or change how it operates.

VCI Global Limited’s results depend chiefly on Malaysian clients’ consulting milestones, technology-project completion and payment collection, rather than on a broad set of close listed peers.

  • VCI Global Limited invested in SAGTEC GLOBAL LIMITED, and both are exposed to Malaysian businesses’ spending on software and digital tools: VCI charges clients for custom development, while Sagtec focuses more on ordering and transaction systems. Watch Sagtec’s software-development revenue for the closer overlap with VCI; its Speed+ subscriptions, paid by businesses particularly in food and beverage, reflect a different customer focus.
