TMD Energy Limited buys refined marine fuel through its operating subsidiaries and delivers it by bunkering vessels to domestic and international shipping customers in Malaysian waters. Its own vessel-management team oversees these deliveries. Customers pay for the fuel supplied, which generates almost all revenue; ship-management services contribute a small amount. Fuel selling prices generally track market oil prices, so revenue depends on both the amount delivered and oil prices. Profit also depends on the gap between selling and purchase prices, after delivery and vessel-operating costs.
The business is highly concentrated: a single customer, identified as Customer A, provides most revenue, while Supplier A accounts for most of the costs of providing its services. Customers have no long-term agreements or binding purchase-volume commitments and can reduce or stop orders. The company also depends on a limited pool of fuel suppliers and uses short-term bank trade financing to fund purchases and imports.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Singapore-based Uni-Fuels Holdings Limited competes with TMD Energy Limited to source and resell marine fuel to shipping companies in the same regional market. Watch its marine-fuel sales revenue rather than its commissions from matching buyers with suppliers for the closer comparison with TMD’s fuel-delivery business.
CBL International Limited competes with TMD Energy Limited for international shipping customers’ fuel orders by buying fuel and coordinating suppliers’ deliveries to ships. Watch its news on pricing for container liners, its major customers: CBL says lower-priced competitors can draw customers away.
PTL LTD competes with TMD Energy Limited for Asia-Pacific ship operators’ fuel purchases, but arranges suppliers’ delivery while TMD operates fuel-supply vessels in Malaysian waters. Its sales are a geographically different comparison: deliveries at Hong Kong ports accounted for 94.9% of PTL’s revenue in 2025.
World Kinect Corporation’s marine business competes for shipping customers’ fuel purchases with suppliers such as TMD Energy Limited, but its aviation and land businesses make company-wide results a less direct comparison. Watch its marine segment results for the part that overlaps with TMD’s ship-fuel business.
Fed Interest Rate Decision
TMD Energy’s bunker-fuel business buys fuel to supply vessels in Malaysian waters, so changes in borrowing costs affect what it pays on trade financing used for operating purchases and imports.

If it comes in above expectations
If the policy rate is above expectations, TMD Energy’s trade-financing costs may rise, leaving less of its bunkering revenue after financing expenses.
If it comes in below expectations
If the policy rate is below expectations, TMD Energy’s trade-financing costs may ease, leaving more of its bunkering revenue after financing expenses.
World Kinect Corporation earningsWKC
World Kinect’s marine results show how shipowners’ fuel buying is going in a market where it competes with TMD Energy.
Focus on World Kinect’s marine fuel activity alongside marine gross profit, rather than its company-wide results. If fuel activity holds up or rises and gross profit keeps pace, demand and suppliers’ room to earn appear supported; if activity weakens or gross profit lags, demand may be softer or price competition and supply costs may be squeezing margins. TMD relies heavily on one customer, and this competitor’s results cannot show whether TMD kept its own orders; they can indicate whether the market around TMD is supportive or adding pressure.
