Company overview

XCF Global processes oils and fats into renewable fuels at New Rise Reno in Nevada, its only facility generating fuel-production revenue. It aims to concentrate on sustainable aviation fuel, or SAF, which airlines blend with conventional jet fuel. Its revenue so far has come mainly from renewable diesel and the environmental credits sold with it, following a temporary switch to diesel while the plant worked toward final acceptance. Repeated maintenance shutdowns disrupted production; at the latest disclosed status, Reno was producing neither SAF nor renewable diesel.

Phillips 66 is XCF’s only revenue customer and supplies all of Reno’s current feedstock needs. Under their agreement, it buys the plant’s SAF, renewable diesel and renewable naphtha, together with associated environmental credits. XCF’s earnings depend on the gap between fuel selling prices and feedstock costs, after logistics and other fees. SAF demand also depends on airlines adopting the fuel, while environmental-credit income requires compliance with renewable-fuel programs.

Reno uses technology licensed from Axens North America, and continued production depends on retaining that license. Final SAF acceptance requires meeting specifications for blending with conventional jet fuel. XCF needs additional financing to sustain operations; further production sites remain plans rather than established revenue sources.

The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.

XCF's results hinge on stabilizing New Rise Reno production and on Phillips 66, its sole revenue customer and contracted supplier of all the facility's feedstock.

  • Gevo develops aviation fuel from alcohol, targeting the same market as XCF's sustainable aviation fuel made from oils and fats. Watch adoption of Gevo's plant designs and technology by other fuel producers: its licensing platform offers another route to supplying those aviation-fuel buyers.

  • LanzaTech's affiliate LanzaJet is developing sustainable aviation fuel from alcohol to compete for the buyers XCF serves with fuel made from oils and fats; LanzaTech itself earns money from partners through technology licensing, supplies and services. Watch progress at LanzaJet's Freedom Pines plant for signs of competing aviation-fuel supply.

  • Aemetis is developing a sustainable aviation fuel and renewable-diesel project aimed at the same fuel buyers as XCF. Its existing businesses sell ethanol, biodiesel and renewable natural gas, so watch the new fuel project's progress rather than treating those operations as a direct comparison with XCF.

  • Future Fuel Corporation sells biodiesel while XCF sells renewable diesel, so both face demand for diesel substitutes, vegetable-oil feedstock costs and clean-fuel incentives. Watch its Biofuels results rather than total revenue: its separate Chemicals business supplied 62% of company revenue in 2025.
