Q2 Holdings helps banks and credit unions provide digital banking to individuals and businesses. Its platform connects to institutions’ existing core banking systems, letting them add services without replacing those systems. Customers are overwhelmingly financial-services providers, particularly regional and community institutions, and the digital banking platform supplies the substantial majority of revenue.
Institutions pay under multiyear subscription agreements. Pricing generally reflects the features purchased and the number of registered users or commercial account holders. Q2 can earn more as customers add features, users and transactions, including usage above amounts covered by standard subscriptions. The business therefore depends on customers renewing agreements and expanding their use, not just on winning new institutions.
Delivering these services depends on access to customers’ third-party systems and on public-cloud infrastructure, primarily AWS and Microsoft Azure. Q2 is also subject to examinations as a technology provider to financial institutions and must meet applicable privacy and compliance requirements. Oversight of its payment and funds-transfer services can require changes to systems and controls or limit the services it may offer.
The risk section is the longest, dullest part of the filing. This keeps only what can really hurt you: where it hits, how hard, when it plays out.
Every company claims an edge. Each one is checked against hard numbers like margins and returns: which hold, and which line gives way first.
Q2's results depend chiefly on banks and credit unions adopting digital banking, with privately held Candescent and Backbase also important rivals to watch.
Alkami Technology and Q2 compete to sell digital banking software subscriptions to banks and credit unions, and both earn more as customers add registered users and buy more solutions. Watch Alkami's registered-user growth and sales of additional solutions for signs of the demand Q2 also serves.
Jack Henry competes with Q2 for technology spending by substantially the same community and regional banks and credit unions, selling banking systems while Q2 supplies digital banking and lending software. Its cloud-service and electronic-payment revenue is worth watching for how those institutions spend on banking technology.
Fiserv competes with Q2 while selling banking technology and account and transaction processing to financial institutions that also buy Q2's digital banking software. Watch its processing and services revenue, earned mainly through account- and transaction-based fees, for activity in a market Q2 also serves.
nCino competes for banks' lending-software spending, overlapping with Q2's digital lending and relationship pricing offerings. Watch its subscription revenue from existing customers: nCino says this grows with the portfolio assets its software supports and customers' use of AI capabilities, offering a view of banks' lending-software demand.

Q2's report will show whether it can keep selling digital-banking subscriptions to new and existing customers while retaining the customers it already has.
Read subscription revenue growth alongside subscription net revenue retention, which compares subscription revenue from an existing customer group with that same group a year earlier. More users, heavier use and added products can lift retention; lost customers can pull it down. Strength in both would show that new sales and expansion among existing customers are supporting Q2's core business. Slower subscription growth with weaker retention would point to a less durable customer base, even if total revenue still rises.
Alkami Technology, Inc. earningsALKT
Alkami's report will show whether banks and credit unions are still adding digital-banking users and buying more solutions in the same market where Q2 sells subscriptions.
Watch Alkami's registered-user growth alongside sales of additional solutions to its customers. If both strengthen, banks and credit unions are expanding platform use and purchases, supporting the market Q2 serves. If both slow, customers are adding fewer users and solutions, which could leave less room for Q2 to expand subscriptions. This is a read on the shared market, not a report of Q2's own customers or revenue.
nCino, Inc. earningsNCNO
nCino's report will show whether banks are expanding their use of lending software, a market that overlaps with Q2's digital-lending business.
Watch subscription revenue growth from nCino's existing customers, and what the report says about the lending assets its software supports and customers' use of AI capabilities. Faster growth would suggest banks are expanding their use of lending software, a demand backdrop that also matters to Q2's digital-lending business. Slower growth would point to softer spending in that category. nCino's results are a market signal, not Q2's own sales figures.
